This is just so great a learning process for Inman. He's throwing the ball well and learning what it will take to really be an effective pro. The jump to AA is usually he acid test and even though his first couple of outings won't show a "W", it looks like he's going to be more than fine.

I was at the Smokies vs Stars game today. It was a very good game except the Stars lost. Inman looked very good. He had a nasty curve today. The radar gun at Smokies park is a very slow gun and I think the highest he reached was 87-88. I have been to several Smokies games and I have seen very few players in the 90's. Does Inman have problems with guys on base(for someone who may know)?

When he is in his delivery he has a high leg kick and takes the ball back really low. In the Stretch he stills takes the ball down low, but not as high of a leg kick. I was impressed and he did a good job.

The play Hurrican and Escobar made was AWESOME in the third inning. Hernan fielded a ball up the middle with no one own and just flipped it with his glove hand to Escobar and they still got the guy out.

will works 90-92...but he can throw it harder than that...if he were a reliever, i bet he'd be in the 93-94 range...

jim powell compared him to Carlos Villanueva a few minutes ago, and that's probably not a bad comp, but will strikes out a lot more people..

True, but it's 11 per 9 vs. 9 per 9, it's not like Villanueva was a slouch.

I'm excited to hear the Helena pitchers tonight, I've been looking forward to this since last years draft.

Also, is it just me or are there entirely too many rain outs in FL?

Buck Rogers, Manatees GM:

Tonight's game has been rained out. The field has taken way too much water and is flooded at the moment and facing a few hours of drainage. In fact, even though the rain has stopped we're not even remvoing the tarp until morning to give the current ponds/puddles a chance to soak in and drain.

Tonight's game will not be made up as it is the last game of the first half of the season.

Tomorrow all FSL teams will have their records reset to 0-0 for the second half of the season.

The Brevard County Manatees and Sarasota Reds have secured two of the four post-season playoff berths. The winners of the second half in each division will face the first half winners in the first round of the playoffs in September. The two winners will advance to the League Championship Series.

The Manatees would like to thank Lauren Farrell for running our media department the past couple of months. Lauren is leaving us tonight to return home to Pennsylvania to start her senior year of school at Penn State. Lauren took on a complicated task that oversaw in-house closed circuit TV, radio and web-casting of games, and as a media intern performed impecabbly and professionally. We will certainly miss her.

The Manatees travel to Daytona Beach tomorrow night to face the Cubs.

Seidel's change up got rave reviews in the first. I wasn't paying close enough attention as I'm working on lame contingency binders for work, but it got a mention as it we went to the break.
