Anyone see the HBO documentary on the Brooklyn Dodgers?

mdresen

Fantastic show that's a must see! Talk about a franchise with some highs and extreme lows. I was heartbroken watching segments of the show and I was born 10 years after they left Brooklyn.

Anyhow, 2 things of interest to note:

- The team was hoping to build a domed stadium to replace Ebbet's Field

- The New York Giants were set to move to Minneapolis, but teamed up with the arch rival Dodgers to move to California at the same time

I enjoyed the documentary. I think they maybe focused a little much on Jackie Robinson in the first hour, but that was okay, too.

The film was very sympathetic toward O'Malley. I haven't studied the move enough to offer a differing opinion, but if it played out exactly like the film portrayed then O'Malley (and, by association, his family) has been wrongly victimized ever since.
