6/8/2004 - Brewers(Sheets)@Angels(Escobar)/Cheese Sandwiches

JaNelson52

The Brewers have not been below .500 since May 11. Hopefully that streak continues against the Angels in what is probably the biggest series of the season to date for Milwaukee.

Ben Sheets gets back on the hill for the Brewers. He was originally scheduled to face Jarrod Washburn, but Washburn had his start pushed back a day to tomorrow due to troubles with leg cramps, so Kelvim Escobar pitches for Anaheim.

Not too look too far ahead, but I've cleared the schedule and plan to be in front of the TV for Ben's next start on Sunday against Clemens. Man I wish I lived a bit closer to Milwaukee so I could witness that battle in person. I hope Clemens is 9-0 coming in and Sheets outduels him 1-0 or 2-1.

Should be a fun one to watch.

The brewers are going to get swept by the Angels....that's my prediction.

Thanks for your opinion backed by no facts and not even any argument. This is a really helpful prediction...very insightful. It's too bad everyone on this message board doesn't have the amazing power of logic that this prediction expresses.

*Is this enough sarcasm?*

Nothing wrong with making a prediction. I think Hater's sense of impending doom is certainly understandable watching this team try to stay afloat with no offense for a month.

Sooner or later, the offense has to break through or this season will begin looking a lot like many recent seasons.

the Angels are argueable the best team in baseball...how about the Brewers sweet them this week and pound the Astros vaulting them up near the Reds/Redbirds for first place in the division and keeping Houston/Chicago back a few games.

This could definatly be a launching pad for a terrific summer if they capitalize at the right time.

The Angels have a lot better players than Milwaukee...but the Brewers have a better team.

Sweep these AL boys and keep on marching through June

ahhhhhh...........HUH?

The Angels are in 1st, the Brewers are in 5th. They have better players, hence they ARE a BETTER team than the Brewers.

if I had the option I would edit that post...I appologize for my irrationally and I definatly got dupped by the last two posts...all I was trying to say is that on any given day Milwaukee can beat the best.

I guess baseball isn't like basketball when a team without one HoFer (Pistons) can beat a team with 4 (Lakers). Im too excited about game 2 tonight and somehow translated that to baseball

anyways....I hope Milwaukee wins and Ill try and think before I post in the future...may I have a mulligan?

Of course... and I agree, certainly, that even the worst team in baseball can beat the best team. The fact that Sheets is going tonight is good, 'cause hopefully it will mean we win at least one of the three games, but you never know.

Coming from a longtime golfer, I'll give a mulligan on that shot! I take 'em all the time myself. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

I do agree that in baseball moreso than other sports, bad teams can beat the good ones on a given day.

GO SHEETS!

who is the one hall of famer on the pistons? Hamilton, Billups, Wallace, B. Wallace, Prince.????Milicic? None of those guys are sure fire hall of famers at all.The reason the Pistons won and will win the series is becuase they are a better defensive team than the lakers are an offensive team.

....Damn I forgot about Big Nasty and Ham Jam..theirs your 2 hall of famers...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

"FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! GO OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Well said RoCo

From a motion picture you all know....names have been changed to protect the innocent....

A loud boom is heard in the Brewers locker room.

Burba: Jesus Christ, Ginter!

Ginter: Have to wake up Bats!

Smoke rises from Ginter's locker, thus setting off the Edison Field Visting Clubhouse indoor sprinkler system.

I wasn't sure who to cast in the roles of Cerrano and Harris? So since Ginter is leading the team in HRs, I made him Pedro and since Dave Burba is crafty and a veteran of this staff, he got to be Eddie Harris.

Any guesses as to who Neddy will put in the DH spot tonight against Ecobar. I'm guessing lefty, so I'll go with Liefer. Heck while I'm at it I'll try and guess the entire line-up. And this is only a guess.

Kieschnick won't be available for this series, AFAIK, because he went home to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.

I think Brady Clark will play.... I'm just getting that whole "I haven't seen Brady play enough lately, so he needs to start" vibe.

BrewCrewinMN, re-read niki's post. He calls Detroit a team WITHOUT a HOFer. Although, Big Ben could make a convincing case if he keeps up his current level of play for 5 more years. Might not even require that much. You can get into the HOF on defense and rebounding. Remember Bill Russell? Everyone else does.

I digress. Here's hoping the Brewers' Big Ben steals one from one of the AL's best.
