Ned is a terrible field manager. I just dont think he gets it. He pulls his highest OPS player when a bomb give them the lead so he can use up a player to bunt? Huh? Branyan could have stayed in and bunted! JIMINY XMAS! That makes no sense. So he would rather have Helms and Moeller up in the clutch than Branyan and Helms? Come on Ned. THINK! You suck.

DUMB MOVE!!!!!!!! SEE. Now we may only get one run!!!!!!

What are you talking about? They got the run they got because of the bunt, unless you somehow guarantee that Branyan/Durro would have gotten a hit there.

I am confused, is it better to lose by one, rather than two... is it better to tie rather than go ahead by a run

darn ned, just plain old wrong

ned, if you tie the game, they have six outs, you have three, it does not make sense ned... it does not make sense

I might have missed something, but are people saying Branyan should have batted against a lefty? Are people saying bunting with 0 out, 2 on, and down 2 that bunting is a bad idea.

Branyan swinging away against a lefty is suicide this late in the game.

As for the bunt it is a manager's call. I am not a Yost apologist, but you can't really question bunting to runners up with nobody out.

Like I said, I might have missed something, but people need to chill out a bit.

Well, the box score says all you need to know why they may not make it to .500 this year:

LOB......21 (through 8 innings!) Yikes

Even with crappy pitching today, they should still be leading 12-8 or 13-8 or something! 15 hits, 21 LOB. Same old problem - RISP.

Yes, and if Moeller came through with a base hit right there (as hard as it would be to picture...) and Jenks scored, then everyone in here would be saying how great of a move Ned made. Sometimes things go your way and other times, they don't.

Can Branyan bunt?

Whine Whine Whine Whine Whine

Yost played for the tie, yes. Had it worked, we would have had a tie ballgame with the top of the order in the 9th. I think he made the right move. All of you second guessers wouldn't last a second trying to make the decisions that Yost has to make during the ballgame, I'm thankful he doesn't listen to your advise before making his decision.
