He was obviously left in too long, and anybody can see he should have been pulled way before this. Right?

Stupid Willie Randolph. Should have kept Howe.

I just don't think we should get crazy and call for Yost's head whenever a starter is left in there. As someone else pointed out, when a pitching coach visits the mound in those situations, they go in there with the intent to keep the starter in to eat innings, especially one with strikeout rates as good as Davis'. However, when a coach goes out and asks Davis' "How are you felling, do you want to come out?" or anything to that effect, if a pitcher says "Yes, I want to come out." it's the type of guy you don't want/need on the team. Davis needs to be kept in in that situation given the state of our bullpen right now. No need to call for anyone's head.

Wow, as dumb as Durro's move was last night, gettin picked off first with a man on third in a tie ballgame is almost as bad.

Thanks, Miguel!

Once again . . . you aren't eating up innings if you aren't getting outs.

I understand that. But, the idea is that he was supposed to get the outs. It is Davis' fault so there is no need to call for Yost's head. Like someone else said, it's Doug's fault. He's a big boy, a Major League pitcher and he needs to try and eat the innings there. He didn't, walked 7, gave up 6 ERs and hit the showers early.
