2006 Pre-season Predictions

BillScottCanRake
Brewer Fanatic Contributor

Each year around the start of Spring Training someone starts a thread to get everyone's pre-season predictions. While I know this might be a bit early to start this thread, I figured we are all a bit more excited for this season to start, so why not get it started? And if some big trade comes along to make us change our opinions, there isn't any harm in doing this again in February or March.

Let's limit the posts in this thread to predictions, rather than comments about other's predictions. At the end of the year, we can revisit this thread and see how right or wrong we were.

Have fun!

Comments

I'll be the first to admit I haven't followed baseball too closely this winter, so some of my predictions, especially with regard to the AL, are probably a bit under-researched.

Good luck, and have fun.

Chris

Great thread to waste some time, especially since these predictions are difficult to make and take some thinking

maybe it's the 502 plate appearances that's inhibiting everyone from thinking of him, but i'd venture speculation that corey hart will be the brewers' stolen bases leader, and not rickie weeks or billy hall.

granted, hart will only rack up the majority of his swipes if he's used as the primary pinch runner. (remember how tiny felder used to come in late to pinch run so robin, jimmy or paulie could drive him in?)

given hart's defensive versatility, you can count on him entering games as early as the 7th inning to pinch run for the likes of fielder, koskie, cirillo, jenkins (and even a stealing threat like lee), and then assume that player's position the next half-inning. and as long as there's a defensive switch available, you could put hart in to pinch run for the catcher or pitcher that happens to reach base.
