2007 Pre-season Prediction Thread

BillScottCanRake
Brewer Fanatic Contributor

Each year around the start of Spring Training someone starts a thread to get everyone's pre-season predictions. I know another thread was started, but since the "official" prediction thread tends to get more detailed, I started this one based on last year.

Let's limit the posts in this thread to predictions, rather than comments about other's predictions. At the end of the year, we can revisit this thread and see how right or wrong we were.

Have fun!

Sorry....Posted my own thread on this...without much detail...has more to do with the NL and how the Brewers will finish....I will give more detail, as above in a week or so......

What are everyone's predictions here? (And I'm not talking about "fan" "Yeah, the Brewers are going to win it all this year baby!!!" Types of predictions...I mean realistic, researched predictions....

I am picking the Brewers to finish 3rd behind the Astros and Cardinals. I think there is the chance for the Brewers to finish 2nd, given the Cardinals pitching issues. I think the Astros have good enough pitching to go along with a HUGE middle of the lineup with Berkman and Lee, that that will make them division winners. I think the thing that will keep the Brewers from the top is the uncertainty of their health, and the fact that they still have big holes in the batting order.

And like everyone else, I am going with the Mets to win the NL, the Dodgers in the West, and the Giants as the Wild Card, with the Padres not too far behind....

billscott, question for you .. .

You have Jenkins as your team offensive MVP but he is not your leader in any of your offensive categories. Are you thinking he'll just have a solid leadership-type season that is good but every category he is bested by one player? (i.e. Jenkins pretty much finishes 2nd in every offensive category?) Just wondering, not pointing fingers.

I'll get to mine as we get closer to the end of spring training.

Good catch- I copied-and-pasted from last year's thread, and I thought I had updated everything, but I must have forgotten offensive MVP.

Thanks for the catch.
