04/15/04 Milwaukee (Sheets) @ Houston (Redding)

Houston is on a roll. Sheets I can see struggling against this red-hot lineup, I see a high scoring affair, but faith in my Brewers will come out on top Crew 11-10

Wouldn?t it be a tasty treat to take 3 of 4 from Houston in Houston!

"Houston has that knuckleballer (who couldn't throw a strike to save his life last Friday) starting Saturday."

Jared Fernandez was optioned to AAA on Tuesday. According to the Astros' website, Brandon Duckworth will start on Saturday.

Duckworth is terrible, and the Crew has struggled with knuckleballers since spring when they faced Sparks, and they couldn't get a hit against Cody McKay for two innings in StL. So this is actually probably a lucky break.

I am really looking forward to see if Sheets can follow up his last game with another great start. He has shown flashes of being a number 1 before, but has always been inconsistent. Putting in a quality start today would be a big step.

Jenkins loves hitting against this guy. Hopefully, he'll keep it going.

I think Sheets has gotten in the heads of the Astros hitters the way Miller has with the Brewers hitters. These guys know very well that they don't hit certain pitchers well. That said I would be very happy to leave Houston with a .500 record intact.

Craig Counsell really really works the count. I am starting to get impressed by his approach. I think it is rubbing off on the rest of the team.

Maybe Ned Yost knew what he was doing by batting Counsell second. He leads the team in walks.

Nice.

When Ben first came up, I noticed that he leaned back before every pitch, sort of how someone would if their lower back hurt. After watching him do it for a few games, I figured that it was just a "thing" he did, like so many pitchers do.

Is this really a long time thing that he's been dealing with maybe? Or am I just grasping at straws?

Radio said back stiffness.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
