So I was wondering when we focus on Podesdnik's major slump? Obviuosly he has shown now he isn't a full time player in the month of May and should split time with Clark....

Which would you rather have: 88 doubles, or 45 homers?

Personally, 88 doubles in a heartbeat... especially considering that 90% of Sexson's shots were solo HRs...

Right now it sure looks like we took the DBacks to the cleaners in that trade....

And a 1-2-3 inning for Davis.

76 pitches through 5 innings. Yeah, looks like we got a Jamie Moyer on our hands. Two hits and one walk through five innings. If Overbay and Hall hadn't made those errors, the Crew would be pretty close to putting this game away.

That's a tough call. One thing I have noticed is that from an entertainment perspective, it is more fun to have runners on the bases and guys running around.

I'd have to assume that Helms will have slow Aprils - at least in Milwaukee. Must be the weather.

*shrugs*

Three insurance runs. And even if Doug makes an out, the Crew will have the top of the order coming up in the 6th.

but Clancy, the reason I'm not getting too excited about Davis right now (although he's safe in the rotation now) is that he's facing a lineup that entering the game featured two players hitting over .250. However, props to Davis for his efforts recently, as he's helped give us a solid 1-2 punch. Now for Capuano to return, then Hendrickson by the allstar break, to give us 4 solid starters.

I'd rather call up Saenz first. His "clock" has already started, so why also start Hendrickson's arby/free agency clock as well this year?

Saenz did good enough in his first start to make him my first choice to cal up if we need another starter. I'd rather run him out there, and at worst, buy Hendrickson all of 2004 at Indy, than have to deal with two arby clocks running as of this year.

Saenz handled the pressure pretty well when he came up on short notice to take over for Cappy. Why not have him be the first call-up?

A rotation of Sheets, Davis, Capuano, Sanez, and Obermueller will be okay for 2004, I think. Hendrickson can be plugged in for Obie in `05.

Actually, Richie hit 26 solo HR's, with 14 2-run shots and 5 3-run HRs, so only 57.7% of his HR's were solo shots.

At this point, Saenz has only three days worth of service time, so that really isn't a worry. If he's called up later this summer, he isn't going to get enough time to be a Super-2, so he'll be exclusive property of Milwaukee thru the end of 2006 and arby eligable thru the end of 2009.

If Hendrickson is called up this summer, he'll be the same.

The whole point about the arby clock posts is to prevent guys from being Super-2s, and I'd have to think both guys are past that point.

When they are ready, and they are needed for more than a spot start, bring 'em up. Not a second before, and not a second after.

Sorry, but I have to do this everytime DD gets a start... Captain's orders.

Doug Davis is an average Major League starting pitcher. Doug pitches ugly, but the results are... well... average. If the Brewers had five average Major League starting pitchers, we'd be very happy.

Because Saenz is in AA dominating, and Hendrickson is dominating in AAA, after dominating in Low-A, High-A, AA, and the AFL. I wouldn't plan on Saenz yet, although he's been fabulous.

As for his service time, what does 2-4 days of service time matter, Clancy? Plus, I'm advocating Hendrickson around the allstar break (when we'll need 5 starters again). That will give him about 16 starts in AAA. At that same point, Saenz should be in AAA, too. I wouldn't want to see Saenz again until he's also ready.

On a side note, Davis could be going for a complete game. He'll be at about 99-100 pitches through 7, and I'd let him keep working until there's a reason to pull him. He gets 5 days rest, too.

So how often does Jaimie Moyer give up doubles to the opposing pitcher?

***I would guess never since he moved to the American League.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif
