Crew gets lucky again. 2-0

Ben's command isn't there yet. He's also using his curve more than he has recently, and not locating it well thus far. It also seems to be more of a 1-7 spin today rather than his usual 12-6

Notice that all 5 players on the Dodgers bench have a BA over .300 and OPS over .800-- of the starters, only Cora can say the same.

On behalf of brewerfan nation, I would like to offer sincerest thanks to Jim Tracy. You da' man.

After the past few days, they need more than 6 from him.

so who is available? Gotta figure that Kieschnick, Vizcaino, Kolb, Burba, and Wise.

Bennett, Kinney, and Adams might not be available, but I don't know for sure

Wow, they just showed a different angle--from the press box or around there-- for the ball Jenkins his 75 feet, and it was about 18" inside. I don't think it's possible for a righty to get a ball to come back to the plate THAT much. Not sure what Geoff was thinking

Also, high strike 3's called to Overbay and Bradley.

It appears Sheets has fixed what he was doing wrong mechanically, as he's now locating the heater and has a sharp 12-6 spin working now

Jenks looks absolutely horrible right now. He's no threat whatsoever.

How many guys has he stranded in this series?

Now that I said that, he'll probably knock one onto National Avenue next time up. Hope so.

Never thought I'd have a chance to say "thanks" to the pitchers, but they're bailing out this pop gun attack.

Watching the game on Dodger T.V., and without Scully, it's brutal.

Anybody using MLB Gameday today? Jeff Weaver looks like a tweaked out meth addict.

Man, I hope Sheets missed a sign on that one. I can't think of any reason to have him swing away with guys on 1st and 2nd and 1 out.

Yeah, I was looking at that earlier and had the same thought.

Can anyone tell me why Sheets wouldn't be bunting? I would think there's less chance of hitting into a double play by bunting, than by swinging away. If you're successful, you've got 2nd & 3rd and the top of the order.

And Sheets fell down again out of the batters box.

Isn't it great that thorugh 4 IP, Ben has allowed only 2 hits, no walks, and has 3 K's, and most of us probably aren't thinking anything of it. I just hope that he keeps pitching like this for the rest of the year.

It's a lot more enjoyable than some of the stuff we've had to put up with the last couple of years.

Another 1-2-3 inning in the fifth with 2ks... ho-hum.

I think Weaver and Tracy have a legit beef with the home plate ump, he's makin' some weird calls. That 2-2 pitch to Moeller on the outside corner is called a strike most of the time.

re: Geoff - how many times is he going to swing at the first pitch?? I mean he must have done that literally the last 10 at-bats straight! It's not funny anymore. I don't mind a player struggling offensively, but I can't stand someone being so stubbornly against the team's very positive attitude of plate patience. Does anyone know where we can get pitches-seen-per-AB stats? Geoff has GOT to be close to the bottom!

Sheets is starting to heat up. We haven't seen that sharp curve in the dirt for strike 3 in the last 2 starts.
