Tim O'Driscoll has to be among the worst official scorers in baseball. Single + error on Spivey? ***?

I have yet to see O'Driscoll make at least a reasonable call on anything the least bit out of the ordinary. Time for baseball to go to the five man umpiring crew and get some consistency/competence.

LOL... I thought the same thing. He must have dropped 15 f-bombs in about 10 seconds. It was amazing.

C'mon, Gint.

I hope the rest of the season at Miller Park isn't as breezy as the last few games have been. I know Brian Lawrence has some good stuff, but they're making him look like Roger Clemens. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif

Another close call goes against the Crew. TV viewers...was Spivey out? Powell was somewhat non-committal.

The ball certainly beat Spivey to the base... was Nevin on the base? Maybe not, but Spivey could have made it a non- issue if he was actually hustling

I think Nevin was off the bag... it wasn't even particularly close. But you're right - Spivey didn't hustle AT ALL and didn't even bother to slide. Not cool.

I was a bit concerned to see Davis with 122 pitches tonight, then I wandered over to the Royals game to check on Zack Greinke to find he has 100 pitches! What a moronic organization. Here they have a 20yo throwing 100 pitches in his 2nd ML start of the season. If Nedly did something that stupid I'd be on a plane faster than you can say, lookout for the big fat guy charging the field!

The stupidity of ML managers when it comes to handling young pitchers amazes me. You'd think that an organization like KC, which has no major-league starting pitching talent whatsoever (It's amazing it took this long for Brian Anderson to be bumped from the rotation), would be more careful.

Glad to see the Brewers still can't get the close calls. If Spivey was actually safe, it shouldn't matter whether or not he was hustling. That said, I'd like to smack him in the head for not hustling. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

Kind of surprising, 'cause Pena was pretty good about not abusing his young staff last year. The whole KC organization is in a state of panic, however, and I wouldn't put anything past them at this point. Like, for example, calling up a 20yo stud pitcher and trotting him out there for 100+ pitches.

Uncool.

If Catcher's interference is considered an error why isn't an AB charged to the hitter?

0 BB and 10 K so far is not a good sign.....also the lack of SLG in this lineup is starting to show, especially when guys aren't getting on base.
