a truely frustrating game. Hendrickson is used to AAA defense behind him. So far he has recieved no better than A ball defense.

4-1. Bad news. Once again, the offense is completely anemic.

BOOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIIINNNGGGG.

I still find his arm action a bit ackward,

I know that's about Jackson, but...

While it's kind of fun to watch Hendrickson and his throwback-high legkick-hands behind head motion, I have to say I see some of the same motion that Neugy had. The only thing is that Neugy bent really awkwardly (almost bending over backwards) and threw all arm, while Ben keeps his front shoulder in very well.

Looks nice and effortless out there...unfortunately we can't say the same for Greive's defense tonight. Also, is Ben going to be up for two starts? As of now, we have 5 starters, and Cappy isn't elligible to come off the DL till next Thurs, I think. Wise is always an option, but with us going to an AL park, I figure he'll be in the pen against that offense.

Lil' Ben done for the evening.

5 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 83 pitches

Not great, and I'm sure it's not what he hoped for, but he got through the first one and kept the team in the game.

KUDOS BEN!

Freaking Matt Kinney. You're a *reliever* now, remember? Stop pitching like you did when you started.

With our offense lately, it will take three days to come up with four runs. Here's hoping they got hot, and fast. I, too, don't want to stay up late only to see Eric Gagne make the Crew look silly.

And with any kind of defense behind him you can remove two of those runs... maybe three.

I know you can't say "what if", but he didn't pitch as poorly as that line.

All in all, not too bad. Good enough to get another start in five days.

I think Mota just decided to strike himself out. The umpire didn't appear to realize that the fouled bunt was strike three, and neither did Bill/Daron. Mota just walked back to the dugout, though. Weird.

Good call Chris. I hate making excuses for players, but Hendrickson also didn't have some calls at the plate go his way. This series has been littered by a questionable strike zone, which led to Milton Bradley's outburst last night, and that trend seems to have continued tonight. Basically, with better defense and some better calls, Hendrickson wouldn't have been at 83 pitches after 5 innings.

Even with that, nice outing. It definitely adds to the excitement this year.

As for Gagne, streaks and records are meant to fall...

Great AB by Grieve... he's got a wicked good eye.

I'm calling it:

GAGNE'S STREAK WILL END TONIGHT.

STREAK OVER

Ok, that's probably not true. But it would be pretty freaking cool.
