For as much credit as Billy Beane receives for the way he has built a consistent, competetive ballclub, Twins' GM Terry Ryan doesn't receive nearly as much credit, probably because he's not one to draw attention towards himself. Being a UW grad doesn't hurt. While endaround pointed out the number of injuries the Twins have suffered, they have still played extremely well, probably a tribute to the depth they have built, largely through their own, homegrown talent. All of their players seem to be well-rounded, with good offensive & defensive skills.

Jim Powell noted in yesterday's broadcast that the rivalry between the Brewers & Twins has been a lot more friendly, especially compared to the rivalry between the Cubs now & the White Sox when we were in the AL. That said, this series & next weekend's series in Minneapolis are huge, as is every series for the Brewers these days.

The wheels have fallen off.........
"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

They should have brought in Burba to start the 6th, or at least have a very quick hook. Being down only 1-0 after 5 with your fifth starter ... why even bother having 13 pitchers on the roster if you're not going to use them in obvious situations?

I think we might have just witnessed the end of the Wes Obermueller era. Nedley looked mighty pissed when he went out to remove him.

It seems like we say this after he give up every big inning...so at the end of every Obermueller start.

My guess would be he's upset at himself for leaving wes out there for the 6th. As was said above, Wes left us in a very good position after 5, he always starts to lose it around the 5th, we have 13 pitchers and he was due up next so an easy double switch. There was really no reason Wes should have started the 6th.
