Did Bob just announce an attendance of 13,000+?

Unless I misheard that, geez, what's it take? Everyone's waiting for tomorrow night?

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

13k does suck, but I guess people are still waiting for the other shoe to drop. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif

I'll be there Thursday and I'd have gone tonight or tomorrow if I had any money. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Another nice win, and the Cards lose. Only 3.5 back.

I was there tonight. For some reason, it seemed like there were a lot more than 13,000 people there. Maybe they did a good job of spreading the crowd around so that it looked like there were more people than there actually were.

Another nice win, and Doug Davis continues to be the man. But 13,264? What is that? I guess I can't complain 'cause I was busy, too, but that seems awfully low, even against the Rockies. I'm kind of surprised that they didn't at least eclipse the 18k mark...

And how 'bout them D-Rays?

Part of it may be that the Brewers are playing their fourth straight series at home, and those who wanted to catch the team a few times on this homestand probably attended the Astros and Twins games.

I would expect a nice crowd on Thursday afternoon if the weather's nice and expect attendance to pick up again on their next homestand.

I didn't understand the 18,000+ estimates for the game and I don't understand why people are suprised by the 13,000+ that actually showed up. While this years attendance has been better, attendance on Tuesdays stink, plain and simple.

Because of the off-season events/discontent there's a small season ticket and advance individual and group sales base. Attendance will be very up and down with the unattractive dates and opponents still very low.

Late June, nice evening, no school, team in contention and 13,000? The theory that with a long homestand people had already been to one of the earlier games is probably correct but at the same time discouraging.

The White Sox offer half price on every ticket for Tuesdays all year. Brewers only do it on the terrace reserved seats. Time they looked at making it a bargain night everywhere in the park.

I still don?t understand why some people get worked up over our attendance numbers. Will the added money go into improving the talent on the field? HA! Will more people translate directly to more wins? They won last night with 13k. Does having more people at the game make it harder to park, get good seats, and leave after the 9th? Yes. Stretch out at MP and enjoy it while it lasts.

If the only thing that the Brewers could beat for the last 11 years was their fan base, why be surprised or indignant when paying the Seligs for weeknight baseball is not the first thing the frequently flogged think of for entertainment. To the average Wisconsinite, this light at the end of the tunnel probably still looks like train they have been hit by every season for over a decade.

We are going to the game tonight. One thing I can add is that I think too many home games are on TV and that hurts going to the game. It is too easy to stay home and watch it on TV and eliminate the drive to and from the game-- easier to click on and off the remote.

If they want more people in the stands give away more bobbleheads.

Exactly. I know dozens of people that will never go to another game as long as Selig owns the team. I'm talking about former season ticket holders too, people who actually used to go.

Its really difficult to get excited about a pro sport so lopsided in today's age. As much money as baseball makes, the fact that they can't make it an equally enjoyable sport, like the NBA and NFL do. 11 straight losing seasons doesn't happen to even the worst teams of the NBA and NFL these days. What is there to get excited about? That the Brewers may actually put together a good enough team, so that when they peak and almost make the playoffs, the players can cash in with the Yankees?? I'm sorry, but that just doesn't offer me enough as a fan. You'd think with Selig as comish, something would change. Every other sport is catching on except baseball. You plunk down $100 so you can watch a machine...so that maybe someday your favorite players make it to the real big league teams. Yes, I'm going to today's game (from Fox Valley), but I've long given up on this sport until something changes.. and something NEEDS to change.

I went to the game, tried out the club seating,it was nice having my own waitress. The only bad thing was the prices at the bar,4 rum and cokes set me back 36 dollars. The crowd size suprised me also since it was incredible outside, sunny and 75 while we tailgaited.I expected 17-20 K for the game given the weather, the team playing well, and it being buckhead night.
