I was going to go tonight, but I got suckered into work. I'll also (ironically) be in Wisconsin for the rest of the weekend, so no Metrodome for me. I think they're going to lose anyway. Maybe if Sheets was pitching, I would have told work to go you-know-what itself.

"I probably agree, unless they put Obie on a 60 pitch count or a five inning limit."

How about this?

Ned puts Obermueller on a strict, 1-pitch count tonight.

If Cristian Guzman homers on that pitch, which is very possible, we may not recover, given our offense.

But I'm banking on Good Ol' Oby bouncing it in the dirt or hurling it to the screen on a fly. If that happens, then you bring in the REAL starter, Matt Wise, and he takes it from there.

That's the only way we have a fighting chance with the fool on the hill out there tonight. Ned believes that We Can Work It Out, but it'll be a Hard Day's Night. OK, I'll stop now...

"So if this fruit's a Brewer's fan, his ass gotta be from Wisconsin...(or Chicago)."

For some reason I felt this belonged in the major league forum tonight. I wish I knew something you guys didn't.

Friday night's Indianapolis Pre-Game Notes include the following nuggets:

Corey Hart is tied for seventh in the International League in extra-base hits (32).

Corey Hart is hitting .358 when leading off an inning, .308 with runners in scoring position with two outs, and .375 with the bases loaded.

Since June 16, Corey Hart has hit .393 (11 for 28) with three homers and nine RBI. During the entire month of June, he has hit .329 with five homers and 16 RBI.

I won't bore (or excite) you with Hart's career numbers, his career path where he flourished when skipping Beloit altogether, his age, his no longer in danger of "super two" arbitration status or more Brady Clark futility numbers -- you know the deal.

Who knows? You might have more pull than you realize.

We can hope anyways. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

As much as I support Wes, I have to believe the chain is growing short and if he gets bombed tonight that may just earn him a ticket to Indy. Wes may have not been pitching long (senior in college, from what I understand) and I do like his groundball ratio but maybe he needs more time to perfect his pitches or move to more of a niche roll (long relief). I believe if used more often he could prove to be an effective 3 or 4 inning man.

Any guesses as to who the DH will be tonight? I'll say Hall, although Ned may start Clark in right and DH Grieve.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Here are the line-ups. Scottie Po gets a day off against the tough lefty. I guess Ned likes Halls glove over Ginter's at 3rd? Why else DH Keith and not Billy?

Hey Brian,

What's with all the GOP bashing in the MLB topic? Why is it that when Liberals lose in the arena of common sense they flock to Sports to try and micromanage that as well?

Sports is the one area in life where POLITICS has no place interfering. It's a really sad commentary to see misinformed people spout off about Cheney when they don't know or UNDERSTAND why he did what he did. When Sen. Leahy can stand on the floor of the Senate and accuse the VP for something thoroughly false on a repeated basis, it's easy to understand why Cheney took a swipe at him. Senator Leahy fits the Old Northeast elitist Liberalism to a tee.

Brian, if your going to move or delete this post, then I suggest you start removing all other politically charged posts as well. I admit this and those other posts have no place in this forum.
