It's clear that Gardenhire has less than zero confidence in Aaron Fultz. If that's the case, why not get somebody else warming up? You don't *have* to bring in a lefty to face Jenkins/Overbay/Grieve, and it was pretty obvious that Lohse was nearly (or already) finished. Leaving him in to fail, *then* bringing in Fultz (who also failed), and then bringing in Roa (probably before he was really ready) doesn't make any sense at all. And predictably, it resulted in a giant, ugly, meltdown.

Not good, Mr. Gardenhire.

But the other thing is, if you don't have confidence in Fultz, why not warm up your other lefty instead? I guess he forgot that Romero throws with his left hand too or something.

I can understand letting him pitch to Jenks, but after the 4-pitch walk to load the bases, and knowing that there is no way we'll PH for Lyle, it's inexcusable not to bring in the lefty in that situation. Then, to compound the stupidity, he FINALLY brings in the LHP to face two guys that will be PH for with RHB.... which he wasn't prepared to deal with because he didn't have a RHP warming for some inexplicable reason. Bringing in Roa after a hurried warmup, as you said batman, =4 runs for the Brewers.

I must have missed it... what happened, Peavey?

Well, Brian or a mod can delete this if they see fit, but I guess it was just on regional TV.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Bill says, something to the effect of "I had a lot of trouble getting a good grip on the teat." to which Daron responds, "Yeah, you had to give it the reach-around." Followed by an awkward silence.

Wow... thanks Peavey.

Jenkins just swung and missed at a curveball that hit him square in the left kneecap. Ouch. This would probably eclipse all of his previous bizarre injuries, but let's hope that he's OK and doesn't have to go on the DL. Yikes. Anyone else's heart skip a few beats seeing Jenks on the ground, writhing in pain?

*crosses fingers*

EDIT: He's going to stay in the game, I guess. Hopefully he's OK, but you'd think that he'd want to get into the locker room and get evaluated. This is where having 13 pitchers can be problematic, 'cause we're down a position player.

Be OK, Geoff.

EDIT: Early indications seem to be positive, as he is sitting comfortably in the dugout. Good to see.

What a beautiful chant of "Let's Go Brewers" breaking out in the opponent's yard.
"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

Ah it was a great game to be at today! I was shocked that Jenkins stayed in the game after getting hit. First thing out of my mouth was there's the DL. I couldn't believe that Gardenhire let Lohse (worst starter) stay in after loading the bases with 4 lefties in a row due up! That was some mightily unclutch managing. And Yost really had him after he'd burned through only 2 of those lefties and finally brought his LHP in. My wife was laughing hysterically at the futile efforts of the Twins Good grief they walked Billy Hall (and I let them hear it!). If not for Guzman being hot today the Twins would have looked absolutely pathetic.

With Sheets, DD, and Santos (at night http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ), it's hard to imagine we'll ever suffer a prolonged losing streak like some were wailing about after Thursday's loss. Not that we'll win many more than that while H&H remain in Indy, but I'll take solid .500 ball over streaky play everytime (for now).

Ladies and gentleman,

Entering play today your Milwaukee Brewer pitching staff leads MLB in WHIP. Unbelievable. If Yost and Melvin dont win Manager and GM of the year something is wrong with the world.

A 20-something million payroll and they lead in WHIP in late June??? Come on, that is just plain awesome. Adams, Bennett, Viz, Kolb, Kinney and Brooks just flat out rock.

How come Yost can use a hot streak to justify starting someone as god awefull as Clark, yet sit a starter during a hot streak (Ginter).

And since it was inevetable that Helms was coming back to reclaim his 3B spot no matter what Ginter did, how would there be any connection between Ginter's hot streak and Helms returning?

There isn't.

"It was nice to see Scotty's bat come to life this weekend. Five-for-eight, IIRC. If he keeps this sort of thing up, he just might be pushing clsoer to .300."

He was actually 5-9, and yes that does push him closer to .300, from .250 to .259 in fact.

He could get to .300 if he keeps up that pace for the next 45 ABs (25-45).
