7-1-04 Brewers (Santos) @ Colorado (Stark)

ja002h

I thought it was a complete mockery of all we stand for to be under 2hrs til gametime and have no game thread. Per those thoughts...

Today it's the Sleepy Vampire (6-3, 3.84 ERA) vs. Stark for the Rockies (0-2, 16.20 ERA). That hurts just to type.

Assuming the right circumstances, by suppertime we could be witnesses of a very amazing trifecta:

1. 7 games over .500

2. Alone in 2nd place

3. Atop Wild Card standings.

I would party like it's 1982. Go Crew.

That's right, i'm using the S word.... SWEEEEEEEEEP.

Not saying the S word hasn't gotten us anywhere... so.

Good thinkin square. I hope we sweepin' sweep those sweepin' Rockies.

edit: Though the irony is, if we do win today then you know that's gonna be the new superstition.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Here's a picture I got when I typed "beat rockies" in google image search.

If that doesn't inspire the Brewers to SWEEP the Brewers, nothing will!

EDIT: O, too small. Owell.

Since some of you may not check the Minor League forum regularly...

According to a first-hand account from a poster on the ESPN board that just got back from seeing Mark Rogers pitch..

Link

Looks like he was pretty impressive. His line:

2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 5 K, 1 HBP

Faced 7 batters, struck out 5, hit one, one ground out to SS.

Only 3 batters put the bat on the ball (2 foul balls, the grounder to SS)

Edit: Since I forgot to include the word SWEEP in my post, I wonder if any of the guys packed their sweep suits to wear on the trip to Pittsburgh for the upcoming four game series.

I always post Page 2 stuff on the game thread because I dont feel its worthy of starting its own...just good noteability

Page 2 created their "all budget All Stars under 1 mil" and 2 Brewers made the team...I think if they carried a full pitching staff we might see Davis included

....oh yeah, sweep

With the reds getting crushed, it looks like the Brewers will be in no worse than 3rd place in the central, if they win. A brewer win and a cubs lose would put the Crew in sole possession of 2nd place!

The only changes in the Crew's lineup is Clark leading off in CF and Bennett at C.

I wonder how hot Moeller would have to get to actually snag a whole FOUR out of 5 starts.

BLAH!

Where do find posted starting lineups anyway?

Today's lineups are brought to you in part by beat the living hell out of the Rockies today. And by viewers like you. And by Brian, who beat me by a full three minutes.

Brewers, let's go.
