Yeah, it would be nice to have them.

Get two runs, and then send Kinney or some other middle-relief guy to finish this one off. That liner by Sosa should be a sign that Doug's probably thrown enough pitches today.

8 IP, ERA down to 3.46 - he's done his bit for the team tonight.

Has anybody explained why Davis went out for the 7th having thrown 111 pitches already? Does it strike anybody else as odd to run the starter's pitch count to 124 in the 8th inning of a 4-0 game? Did we trade managers or something?

Greg.

Davis didn't seem to be struggling at all out there. The Brewers had a four-run lead.

In any case, it seems to have worked out. No complaints from me. And the bullpen will be well-rested for the next series. Just throw Burba or Kinney out there for the ninth if the Crew can get a couple of insurance runs.

I know this is absolutely unrelated....

But since you can never have enough pitching, how's about we go get this guy:

The added perk being we might start seeing this cheering him on in the stands!

The Cubs' vaunted lineup scored two runs in three games while we got what we needed against on three of the best-regarded pitchers in all of baseball. How could it get better than this?

What an amazing series. Mike Maddux is the new Dave Duncan.
