Today, I'm inclined to say you're right, but not with the explosivity of the Brewer offense and the likes of Matty Erickson, Chad Moeller, and Brady Clark. Not game, not set, not match, not yet anyway.

The offense is looking particularly craptastic today....

Today is certainly not much different than any other day. Five hits per game seems like the max for this club.

EDIT: Then again, when Yost REFUSES to play the man with the second-best OBP on the club in order to satisfy his quest to get his good-glove, no-hit favorite player 400 AB's, what do you expect?

Can't wait to see how the Brewers look against Kerry Wood tomorrow, who dominated the Cardinals in his last start...

But were you saying that Yesterday? And will you say it if they win tomorrow to split the series? At least wait til we're further back of the wild card than 2.5

I would have, had I been here yesterday.

The Brewers may only be 2.5 games back in the wild card (it will be 3.5 after today), but they will have five teams to pass.

EDIT: And two of those teams at the head of the pack, San Francisco and San Diego, are two teams the Brewers don't play again this year.

Getting dominated by Greg Maddux isn't the end of the world. Why is our offensive futility such shocking news every day? Good pitchers will get us out. We won't score a lot of runs very often. And that's how its been since the beginning of May. Nothing has suddenly changed. When we score four or more runs, we have a good chance of winning. When someone like Greg Maddux brings his "A" game, we probably won't win. That's just how it is.

That may be true, but it seems like any pitcher who brings ANY sort of game that doesn't include walking people gets a win.

EDIT: Example: Glendon Rusch.

If the Brewers want to keep this pipe dream of the playoffs going, they have to actually beat some good pitchers. And they have to win games other than having it handed to them, a la yesterday's game.

Like I said two days ago, people... Sellers.

Blech, are you serious here? If you haven't noticed the Brewers are 3 games over .500, for the first time in over a decade, they are on pace to finish like this. I know our record in July is getting bad, but the Brewers aren't sellers, please! If you haven't checked attendance rates, they are up....by a lot!!! The brewers need to attempt to acquire an above-average bat that is not getting payed to much. I know that does sound a little easier than it really is. Why can't the Brewers just try this season, have a lil fun in '04....c'mon!!!!!!!!
