4 runs, wow! Thanks Bill Hall! I'm watching on Gameday, too (it's fun to watch on there, tons of stats, etc. when I can't see the Crew on TV and seeing "In play, run-scoring play" for the Brewers and "In play, out(s) recorded" for the opposing team is ALWAYS nice!

Wow, I was listening on the Score today and they were saying they never knew which Kerry Wood would show up. Keep on hanging those sliders Kerry. They think Wood's hanger ons are keeping him away from advancing to the next level. Wood doesn't look anywhere as good as last time. Thank you very much!

I'm telling you, if the Crew could get to the playoffs against an all power pitching team they'd win the series!

Also, notice how we are staying out of the GIDP tonight and therefore scoring some runs? We get so few runners that any GIDP negates any chance for us to ever score runs in bunches.

I like the argument that you shouldn't slide into first because it is not faster, but then how come Podsednik should have slid back into second because that is faster? And it is not because you slow down to overrun because no one ever over runs a base getting back to it. Dangerous to slide into first but faster imo. Those who don't think so remember when Glendon Rusch dove for that foul ball last night and almost got it? If he would have not dove would that have missed his foot by two inches. That to me is proof, along with diving for the pylon in football.

Sorry about the mini rant.

Go Brewers!

I totally agree...Grieve is so much better than Clark. If only Grieve would play consistently and show that he can actually play defense. If he put up any of the type of numbers he did while in Oakland, we wouldn't have to worry about RF.

RoseBowl, you're comparing 2 compLETEly different things. Running FULL SPEED, sliding is NEVER faster. From a standing position, sliding headfirst is faster, and yes, you WOULD overrun the bag if you ran back full speed. You have to slow down. So to sum up, running to first = no slide, on base = slide.

Wow, Capuano has been awesome so far.

He's been good most of the year. His hits per innings pitched is good and he's averaging nearly a strikeout an inning. His only real flaw right now is walks, but overall there isn't much not to like.DLR may have been the key arm Melvin wanted, but it looks so far the Capuano was the best pitcher in the trade.

%%WORD0%0 what about Glendon Rusch diving for that ball on that great effort. He was going full blast for him and he missed the ball by two inches. Are you saying it would have missed his foot by two inches if he didn't dive. Of course not.

Another example, Favre back to pass and throw across the middle to a diving Donald Driver who snares it right off of the ground. If Driver doesn't dive he gets criticized for not giving it his all and if the ball is thrown at Driver's feet going across the middle the ball is under thrown.

Nice double play!

I hope we can pull this one off. Maybe get a mini win steak going. I won't get my hopes up, but hopefully Hendrickson gets his first big league win tomorrow and Doug Davis becomes the first Brewer to win 10 games this year.

Dude, he dove because that gave him more time to get the ball, which was falling toward the ground. It didn't get him there any faster, it just got him there in a different position (on the ground), which gave him more time to catch the ball. If his goal was to touch the spot where the ball would land with his foot (or hand), then diving wouldn't have made any sense.

Apples and oranges.

Grieve sucks.
