8/3/2004: Brewers (Capuano) vs. Mets (Leiter)

Ned Yost has the shades on.

That's because our future's so bright...he's gotta wear shades.

I just tuned in, and I saw 18 at first base.

Am I drunk? Dead? What's the deal here?

I guess Yost ran out of spots to put Overbay so he just took him out of the lineup. He did say we were running out of options.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif

I didn't know he stated that he wanted to give Overbay a few days off. I completely understand that as I believe he's in a bit of a funk, might be tired from playing 100+ games for the first time ever . . .

But seriously, I could see giving Pods a week off and Jenkins I'd like to see take the rest of the season off.

Trent with the hit and now Jenks. 2 on, 1 out. And Overbay has the day off. All the luck.

This is what I like to call the Mieske factor. As soon as I make fun of a guy for sucking, or question a lineup, those players will do well.

I named it after Mieske after constantly ripping on the guy everytime I saw him playing in person and he'd end up doubling and going 2x3 or something.

Jenks takes off on a hit and run and gets doubled up and somehow its HIS fault? Its bad luck. It has nothing to do with Jenkins not paying attention. There is no way he could have reversed field and got back to the bag on a hit and run.

Clark with another "duck snort" down the RF line. Man, he got all of that one. Just get on, baby.

Anyone else feel dumber listening to Schroeder babble about not knowing what the Mets are planning for third base in the future? Granted, I know he doesn't follow the minors, but the fact that the Mets traded their starting third baseman so they could play a 21 year old, high draft pick, who hit around .330 in the minors this year, should be a clue.

Closing the outfield windows, wonder if this lovely Madison weather is heading that way. Is the roof closed yet?
