8/12/2004 Milwaukee @ Atlanta Sheets (9-8) vs Wright (10-5)

DuWayne Steurer

Grieve: sore calf muscle.

Haven't seen him in the dugout even. Do you have any info on him or a link about this?

It was mentioned on the TV broadcast. Nothing was said beyond what I wrote here.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Podsednik's lack of effort was mentioned on the TV broadcast and apparently that's exactly why he's sitting.

This morning's Drew Olson Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article hinted that Yost wasn't happy with Scott. Drew wrote:

Asked whether Podsednik had a chance to get back, Yost considered Jones' defensive greatness and said, "Probably not." Asked whether Podsednik should have tried to get back, Yost answered with an emphatic, "Yes," that suggested the situation will be addressed.

Looks like we're on! And finally on TBS too.

Where are you at, ja002h? It's blacked out on TBS by me.

Well, that ball was tagged.

jaoo2h- you're really missing some great commentary on FSN tonighthttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif . Sutton just got done belittling himself for how many things he was getting wrong tonight. Yikes.

Haha. Yeah I wish I could hear them. I'll repeat, I'm pleasantly surprised by the Atlanta TBS guys. Kinda like a step up from golf announcers or something, they're laid back, fairly quiet, friendly-sounding, and sound somewhat intelligent, at least so far...

Man, nobody is pitching that great lately, and to boot, the run support is horrible. I'd say the best starting pitchers after break are:

1. Capuano

2. Davis

3. Sheets

4. Santos

5. I can't even put Obermueller here...

Was anybody out there at Jaret Wright's first game in Milwaukee in '97? That game he threw harder than anybody I've ever seen - noticeably faster than Clemens or Percival or anybody else. His fastball must have been 100+ all night.

If I remember right, Ben McDonald pitched that night and there was a pretty big crowd on a weeknight because the Brewers were still on the edge of the pennant race in July. Burnitz had a little league home run (double and two base error) and there was a long rain delay. I remember parking next to where the right field bleachers are at Miller Park.

Another random comment: will Sheets break the Brewer record for strikeouts in a season by mid September?
