8/14/2004: Brewers (De La Rosa) v. Marlins (Willis)

brettac1

brettac1,

Good work with the numbers.

My main beef is the lack of Russ Branyan. I have no problem with sitting Jenkins against a tough lefty. Sitting Podsednik (for the same reason) makes sense, too. Doing what you suggest essentially ends up putting Helms ahead of Podsednik; I can go with that vs. a lefty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

JDLR looks very composed -- he simply was overthrowing on those balls in the dirt in the first -- Moeller really did have no chance. Moeller has Jorge consistently mixing in his curve, which seems to have a sharp bite. There was a nice change-up for a swing-and-a-miss earlier. Wonder if Gary Bennett would be asking for as much off-change stuff (see Hendrickson).

By the way, Chris Magruder did just totally botch the fly ball in the first -- yes, the sun appeared to be brutal, but hey, JDLR should have a no-hitter. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I know most of you guys are listening, not watching (I'm doing both).

Jim Powell painted a very accurate picture during his innings, as Ueck did earlier, so as of this point, can't add a lot. It's probably no secret to Bob & Jim as to when there's no local TV.

No K's yet, but seven ground ball outs off the off-speed stuff...

now we are using wes obermueller as a pinch hitter. What the hell happened to the team that was 7 games over 500???

This whole season has sickened me now. What a joke of a team at this point.

Yost has lost it. The team sucks. The attitude of the team sucks. The fans have been awesome. The state got behind this team. The attendance has been great. The team is aweful right now.

What a difference a month makes.

I am now officially anxious for football season.

Nothing like putting out an 2nd string team out there for a guys debut, like Yost is telling him "there ya go son its all on you." Before anyone says he had a bad outing, first its his first time out, second no matter how good they are you have to expect they are going to give up 3-4 runs, hell this is a rookie pitching for the first time in the bigs. Finally doenst anyone believe putting you best lineup no out there and showing the other team you have to beat out best guys to win. I mean F&@k the numbers, who cares, no power and you have pinch hitters and runners in your starting lineup. As much as i like Yost and his belief in hard work and attitud i think any one of us on this board could manage just as well as he does. I don t post much on this board but my wife is getting sick of me yelling and swearing everytime i listen or watch the game.

That about says it all about our manager, huh? Ya, what a moron he is for sending a 360 hitter to the plate when his best PH has a strained calf.

That Ben Grieve at-bat was the most pathetic thing I've witnessed this year. It's called pinch-hitting, Ben, not pinch-sleeping. Somebody kick him already -- oh, I'm sorry, I'm sure I'll be reminded about his OPS or his batting practice HR's shortly.

Honestly, guys, if you get to see the pitches he watched -- you could just hear the venom dripping in Jim Powell's accompanying call.

My email is sent to Powell. He plays tennis with my roomies dad. I'm try and get my buddies dad to ask him about the Branyan Helms issue and maybe see if we can't get it asked on the air.
Good thinking, panthernick.

I think the idea is to either get this information to Yost and Melvin in case they're unaware, or get an answer from them in case they are aware. (I would hope they're not unaware of this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif)

I'm all for contacting other members of the media (Milwaukee JS, etc.). Unfortunately, the link to e-mail the Brewers TV booth has broken.
