8/17/2004 Cubs (Zambrano) at Brewers (Santos)

burniebrewer

No one seemed very eager to get this ball rolling, so here we go....

Crazy Carlos Zambrano (11-6, 2.82) goes against Vampire Victor Santos (9-8, 4.26) tonight. The Cubs (63-54) are fighting for a wild card while the Brewers (54-62) are fighting to get out of last place. Here's to the Brewers knocking the Cubs down the wild card standings a bit more this series.

Lineups to follow.

We've just gotta do something to rattle Zambrano early. If he finds his groove, we may as well all find something else to occupy our evening.

I wasn't minding Hall batting 2nd for a while; he was hot. But he seems to have cooled off.

When I saw tonight's lineup, my gut instinct would have been to swap Clark and Hall.

I've liked the lineups the past two games a lot better than many others we've seen, so I won't complain too much.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

What a sweet intro on TV. Clips from the last 6 years including the Brant Brown play. Great to see that again. As much as I hate the Cubs, it's always been fun.

Nice job, Daron. You are Daron, not Bill. Looks like we're in for a real announcing doozy when the announcer has already forgotten his name during the intro.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I am watching on WGN here in Illinois. It is amazing how well Steve Stone can predict what will happen in each situation. It's almost like he has a crystal ball or something.

The guy really should be a major league manager.

bjkraut just think what might have been:

Nomar drafted out of high school in 91 by the Brewers but doesn't sign:

Nomar goes #12 in first round in 94 by Boston after Milwaukee takes Antone Williamson #4!

Thanks Sal for taking your Ariz St homer pick!

I think the umpire saw Lee's foot come off the base (not realizing that the other foot was actually on the base).

To be honest, I got fooled on that one too. It looked different on the replay than in full speed.

Just so the gift isn't returned later. **Fingers crossed**
