Inman is having a rough outing - 6 runs through 2 innings. Should we be worried since this is his second rough start or is this normal for pitchers jumping from A to AA. I know it is a small sample size but is this struggle somewhat expected?

Parra with a great start so far. 4IP 0ER 6K 0BB

Joe, if you click on the link directly below the Nashville title on the "follow today's action" post, you'll come to the box score of the game. Then click on Manny Parra's name, and you'll get this:

www.minorleaguebaseball.c...pid=448159

This is his second start of the year in AAA. Milb.com makes it really easy to track this stuff, as opposed to previous years when it was all just hunting around, looking for info on team sites, here, or wherever.

While it isn't normal, it also isn't unexpected. Will has had 1-2 rough starts each year with his one bad one in Helena being most memorably tough (was it 4 jacks he gave up?). Still, they pushed him to AA because they believe he's ready, and we've really seen nothing to think he isn't ready for AA. Heck, it's possible his game might not be far from AAA. One step at a time though

Well I'm officially worried about Inman.. if it was just a couple of runs here and there for 5 or so runs per outing sure... but he's just getting beat around, and beat badly.

I wonder if he's just trying too hard to make good pitches all of a sudden and missing his locations. The old "aiming instead of just throwing" metality. Unfortunately I've gotten home late for all of his starts and he was gone from the game before I was able to get the audio, so I really have no idea what's going on.

edit. Will Iman fan... any insights from the man himself?

While I am a bit worried too... I have Faith in the old saying "you can't win em all" . I am not one to make excuses but I look at it like this... Let him settle down... He's very new to all of this... I dont count the first rough start b/c he didn't find out about it till 1230 the night before and had to get on a plane at 7 am that morning,,. and then they wouldnt tell him definatly whether he was going to pitch or not till the last minute... I dont think that he was mentally there! Also, Will has Mono, a sickness that can make you mentally and physically drained!

I am looking foward to Sat in Jacksonville. Will has to pull himself together and get his head straight and I feel that he is more then capable of doing so. So fear not Will Inman Fans!

Pitches-strikes: Parra 52-42, Albers 105-60.

That total is through 5 1/2 innings, so the Astros' Albers has thrown an extra 1/2 inning, but that discrepancy is still something.

Pitch count only at 52 through five innings, including seven K's - amazing outing thus far.

Mono? Wow, I'm surprised they let him play, our kids have to sit when they have Mono..

edit. Also, thanks so much for the information.

Parra now with 8Ks and 0BB through 6IP.

It'd be great if he could stick as a starter but I'd take him right now in the Brewers 'pen.

It really is great to be able to watch the Gameday of the AAA Brewers v. Astros while watching the parent clubs on the television, especially tonight.

I have no reason to doubt Will Inman Fan and that info sure changes my feelings on Inman's last three outings. Still, he managed to K 4 in 2 innings, shows he isn't afraid to be agressive, even when he's getting knocked around. Not surprising, I guess...
