Oh

my

god

And on another note, Ueck and Powell both have gotten on Grieve quite a bit lately. And deservedly so. I'm not even going to try to defend Grieve anymore. For quite a long time I tried, and was one of those that said you don't have to be all fiery and temperamental to show that you care, but Grieve really acts like he's been going through the motions for a while now. The kicker for me was when he struck out, (this was a few weeks ago) the ball bounced away from the catcher, and Grieve stood in the batters box, waited for the catcher to run nearly to the backstop, get the ball, and then come back and tag him.

I know most of the time you don't make it to first on a WP strike three, but to just stand there and wait for the inevitable is inexcusable. I know most of us say we'd rather have players who are good over those who bust ass to first on grounders to the shortstop, but when you're just standing there waiting to get out? Maybe the lack of playing time is WHY Grieve doesn't seem to give a rip, or put forth any effort, and I can't blame him for that, but still............

RoCo - I'm losing faith in Grieve, too. I'm starting to question his heart and the fact that he really can't play RF for his life. He would be better suited as a DH in the American League, but he may never do that unless you shows he actually has interest in the game he's playing. He didn't even run after the two fly balls that Ginter was chasing today.

What was the problem with Jenkins today, Mr. Meaningless hit. Today would have been another perfect time for him to bust up the shutout and pad his stats with a HR to have the team only fall by 9 instead of 10.

I just can wait to fry up those burgers for George Webb after Monday night. If the Brewers lose 24 in a row do we have to provide George Webb with double burgers?

Ned Yost for Manager of the Year?

When a team is usually losing by multiple runs, it's kinda hard to always hit the game winner.

Ben Grieve will not find a home on a major league 25-man roster on Opening Day next year.

Book it.

I have to agree. There's no way he'll be back in Milwaukee, as Hart will be up and Clark is already signed, plus he's already burned his bridge with baseball's other crap-tastic team. He'll certainly be given a minor league deal, but he's shown that he's best-suited as a DH, yet doesn't hit with enough power that I see him drawing any interest. I had pretty high hopes for Grieve this year, though not as high as some, and have been pretty disappointed. All OBP is fine for a middle infielder, but on a team with little power, you need a guy who can mash a little as a bad-gloved corner OF.
