Nashville starters...

I have to admit, it is quite interesting to note the starters the Crew has at Nashville.

Yo Gallardo is already in Milwaukee. But the Sounds still have Zach Jackson, Manny Parra, and Tim Dillard - all of whom are legit starting pitching prospects, IMO.

Not a bad spot to be in, is it? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Dillard's secondary numbers are fairly poor since A+, which is most likely why he was moved to the pen. I was never all that excited by him.

Jackson is up and down, but he pitched pretty much the same way at AAA as he did at MLB. He always reminded me of Doug Davis, gives up a lot of baserunners but when he's on he works his way out. If he makes it I think he's a 4/5 at best, probably just a bullpen guy in Milwaukee.

Parra I agree with, if he can refine his game a bit more and continue to be healthy, a lefty that throws 95ish is pretty valuable.

Dillard as a starter is still a good 4/5 option. Think a poor man's Jeff Suppan.

Jackson reminds me of Sharpie, too. Again, as a 4/5, you're doing very well to have him.

Parra could be one heck of a comeback story. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I see the Crew dealing Jackson to add a quality reliever, should they decide that they cannot fill their relief needs in-house.

Although if I were Melvin, I'd be tempted to try Parra, Thatcher, and Balfour before acquiring anyone. Capellan has showed even less than I expected and Spurling is on thin ice.

So the AAA rotation is very nice and encouraging, but by August we could have two of them in our pen, one in the AAA pen (Dillard already), and another traded
