09/19/2004 - Brewers (Davis) at Astros (Clemens) ESPN2

The Packers lost and the U.S. lost the Ryder Cup, so it's up to the Brewers (shiver) to secure something of a consolation tonight on ESPN2's Sunday Night Baseball. I would assume that Jon Miller and Joe Morgan will be making the call, so check it out and enjoy some rare nationally-televised Brewers' baseball. The Sunday Night Football game is Miami at Cincy, so it's not like anyone actually wants to watch that, right?

BYOCS, No RSVP Required, Game Thread Starts At 7PM CDT.

Be here.

Bill, is it OK that I don't care about the Ryder Cup? It's difficult to stir up even the slighest of patriotic feelings as we compete against the entire continent of Europe.

Sure... I don't particularly care about the Olympics, with the exception of baseball/softball and basketball, and I only care about those because I care about those sports in general. I'm a huge golf fan, so the Ryder Cup is a pretty big deal.

I like a lot of the European players better than the Americans, though, so it's hard to muster a whole lot of competitive fire. The US team got rolled, though, and it was pretty embarassing.

Anyway, there's your golf content for the day. Lineups soon. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

"If you don't get to Roger Clemens early, you're not going to get to him because he settles in."

-- Gary Thorn and Tony Gwynn (paraphrased)

Roger Clemens in 2004:

 Situation OpAVG OpOBA OpSLG OpOPS ---------------------------------------- Inning 1 .153 .265 .235 .500 Inning 1-3 .213 .293 .332 .625 Inning 4-6 .232 .295 .363 .658 Inning 7-9 .230 .313 .257 .570 ----------------------------------------

The 7-9 is a very small sample (74 ABs), but basically Clemens is tough in the first and then gradually easier to hit as he progresses through the game.
