"world series? no way not for a while the pitching has declined you have to agree last year we could rely on sheets davis kolb vizciano and santos "

So in spring training last year did you know we could rely on Kolb, Viz, and Santos? Not me!

This is, i will repeat ST and i still think that you can relay on sheets and davis until they show you that you can't... And unlike last year we actually can call up young guns or move Jorge de la rosa in to the staff. So yeah we lost kolb and vizciano but i still think our pitching staff is pretty darn good compared to past brewers pitching staffshttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif

It was if i remember his first or second outing... He was not coming in when he is used to and i bet that santos was throwing only fastballs that were 50% plus give him time. Everyone on this board knows that i am not the biggest santos supporter but it's Spring Training and i will let this go... Now if it was the middle of may maybe we would have something to be concerned with!

I know today has been rough with two losses, but let's not let it tear us apart. I remember back in the golden days of Brewers baseball.....way back on March 7th when the sky was the limit. We Brewer fans were united in a common love of our players.

All that is lost now...with this...this date which shall live in infamy.....March 8th...Black Tuesday. Oh cursed allowance of runs!!! Oh mournful lack of out inducement!!! Is there no respit for this scourge called losing? How long until the end.......

Anyone making any conclusions on the players abilities at this stage of ST (or in ST in general) is way off base. I am an eternal Brewer optimist, but heck, even if a pitcher gets shelled in his first regular season outing or two, you can't jump to hasty conclusions.

As a reminder to everyone, we were 5-0 in ST LAST YEAR as well, finished 18-12 or something. It's meaningless, though I like the building of expectations and a winning mindset as much as anyone.

Plus, remember this was split squad today. I believe we have better ML talent this year than we have in a while, but we definitely don't have 2 teams worth of ML-ready talent.

Its not meaningless to win in March. Does it count? No. Is it a positive yes. Sure we went 18-12 in Arizona and then won less than 70 regular season games BUT.....keep this in mind.......

After winning 18 games in ST ....the team came out hot out of the gates and were 7 games over .500 after the mid way point. Milwaukee collapsed but the good spring propelled them to a good start.

I have it working as well, not sure if it is because I had Gameday last year or what. If I get charged for something fit is gonna hit the shan.
I had Gameday Audio two years in a row. The second year there was no record of my previous year. MLB said those records were only kept six months. Given that, I don't think you'll get charged.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Some pitchers (Santos) might warrant a mulligan. Definitely, this was a day to forget.

Seriously, though, if Jose Cappellan is dominating, and Victor Santos keeps getting shelled, is anyone going to seriously suggest keeping Santos in the major league rotation while Cappellan waits in the bullpen or with the Nashville Sounds? I'd rather throw Capellan in as the #3 starter than Santos if that is the case.

We have some positive developments. Jorge de la Rosa looks like a dominating reliever. I think Jeff Cirillo is doing remarkably well, and could force his way onto the 25-man roster as a utility player. David Krynzel is showing a lot of patience and an ability to draw walks. Rickie Weeks and JJ Hardy look like they'l bein the middle infield for a while, and Enrique Cruz looks like he'll justify the Rule V pick.

It's looking pretty good, in my opinion. Still a ways to go, but there's a lot of promise.
