04/15/05 - Cardinals (Suppan) @ Brewers (Sheets), 7:05 PM CT

squarepusher

Back from the game:

1) First and Second with less than two outs with Chad Moeller up to bat and not bunting made me enraged.

2) I was TRYING to will Brady Clark not to steal 2nd when he was caught stealing. Apparently, I need to work on that.

3) St. Louis Cardinals fans don't suck, and actually are pretty pleasant.

4) Nice to meet heeptom in the FanZone store tonight.

5) Finally got to grab this year's media guide.... perenially perhaps the best $10 I spend every year.

6) No matter how far technology takes us over the next few decades, concessions at Miller Park will remain constantly horrible. You would think people would memorize on the touch pad where the 5 items they sell are. You would also think that after hours and hours of filling up soft drink cubs, they'd have it down to a science and not spill it everywhere.

7) As bad as Jenkins's wheels are in RF, he still has an absolute cannon. That outfield assist was the only thing exciting about tonight's game.

Off to bed.

I know I'm probably going to get slammed for a lack of patience or whatever, but he's freaking hitting .130.

Rolen: .125

JD Drew: .125

Nomah: .158

Jack Wilson: .162

Steve Finley: .176

Mike Lowell: .184

Adam Dunn: .188

Arod: .205

Manny: .211

Have I made my point yet??

To knock ANYBODY for hitting .1-something at this point in the season is just plain stupid.

I was at the game tonight, and forgive me if this was mentioned elsewhere and I missed it, but whose bright idea was it to have cheerleaders? Don't get me wrong, I like hot women in skimpy clothing as much as the next guy, but baseball and cheerleaders just don't mix. "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and "Roll Out the Barrel" just don't scream out, "Dance number!" We've got to be the only team in baseball with cheerleaders, don't we? Although I admit it was funny watching the Cardinals players cranking their necks to check out the ones dancing on their dugout.

1. Batman likes to make it his personal ajenda to rip Sutton Shcroeder Bainerd.

2. offense is terrible same as last year exceptions Lee you would think this would let the other hitters Lee and Jenkins get better pitches Jenkins should always get better pitches to hit as no one wants to face lee. Move Milller to fifth spot plse so the poitchers have someone on deck to fear ***** not thinking ok i walk Lee an di can K this bum.

3.Not hitting avg. to bad pitchers ie Josh fogg, Guy tonight came off a whiipping of 6 runs in 4 innnings vs phils, comes in and shuts us out. We are the worst offense besides Kansas in baseball my opinion not to mention the most undisciplined team at the plate and what i mean, is not listening or taking advice from hitting coach. Last year Bill michaels Reported that a player didnt take the advice of Wyneger and just did his own thing, gee who could that bee *******.

4.I dont wanna here Sheets faces no. 1 pitchers all the time give me a break this guy tonight isnt a no.1. Note Mulder whos struggled this year would own the brewers, because thats how this team is and they cant hit mulder anyways. Like redman who gets smashed everyother outing.

5.I like sheets but dont blame over bay for sheets blunders. Shoulda pocketed the ball both times and both throws were bad, so get off sheets bong.

6.Maybe Carlos lee improves the 4th spot but the rest of the team has gone down so i dont think that improves the team. When your SS Catcher pt basis 2B 3b sometimes RF are liablities fully and somewhat. Cnaa bring in a superstar but you gotta improve the team not just spot on it.

7. All the brewers losses 2 shutouts 1 x innings cubs shoulda won that blown so many risp 1 out its bogus. 1 vs pit where 3 homers could have happend. SEEMS a loss when they lose is just a pathetic display of offense even in the cubs game where scoring 5 runs 0-11 risp, getting shut down by a previously bad pitcher 4.50+.

8. Sorry spiveys gotta go he might hit 18 homers he aint gonna hit for avg. Your second hitter cannot strikout like he does.

Brian - I was more upset that he swung at the first pitch and didnt try to work the count. IT seems to me that if he bunts, and they pitch around Hardy, you are left with Bases loaded, one out and SHeets up. That isnt exactly ideal either.

I don't know. If Sheets keeps his bat on his shoulder, he either gets a walk or a strikeout, and then you have Brady Clark up with the bases loaded and 2 outs. I'd take those odds.

I wonder how many more lame steal attempts we'll have to endure before Nedley figures out that Brady Clark is not Scotty Po.

I agree 100%... with all due respect to everyone else, Cardinals fans really are some of the best in baseball.

No, actual cheerleaders with pompoms and spandex outfits. There were seven on top of each dugout doing dance routines during the seventh inning stretch.

OK, that's just about the lamest thing ever.

The Milwaukee crowd was embarrassing last night. One would think that when you pay $75 for a ticket, sit two rows behind the dugout, you can somehow insulate yourself from observing drunks, fights with out-of-towners and f-bombs. Not in Milwaukee.

St Louis fans and many other teams fans are classy and knowledgeable. Not the home town fans last night in Milwaukee.

Only 22,000 people show up to watch a first place team with their ace Ben Sheets on the hill and the National League's best team in the Cards in town. You must be in Milwaukee.

When it takes you over an hour to leave the stadium parking lot with a relatively small crowd. Your in Milwaukee.

After the game, walking across the overpass to the parking lot, 20 somethings drunk on their feet, kicking plastic cups and bottles, yelling proudly about how 'drunk' they are and dropping more f-bombs. In the parking lot, drunks hanging out their car windows, reckless driving around the parking lot, people urinating in the parking lot, people dumping hot coals on the ground. Absolutely no sign of MPD or MCSD anywhere. You were in Milwaukee last night.

Sorry Brewer fans. I'm trying not to paint with a broad brush. I know this does not apply to most fans, but far more than I want to ever see again. It was embarrassing for Milwaukee last night given how many Cards fans were present. It was close to a downright rotten experience.

I was very glad I didn't take my wife and young son to that mess last night.

That's it. I had to vent this somewhere.
