IGT: 6/19/03 STL (Simontacci) at MIL (Rusch)

On the radio today, they were saying that the Brewers are 27-30 on days that Glendon does not pitch. I will bet that our record would be even better that.

Glendon really burns out our bullpen because he gets shelled so early in the game. I have no doubt that some of the other losses can be blamed on our relievers being overworked thanks to Glendon. For example, Glendon's outing tonight will cost us against the Cardinals tomorrow and against the Twins this weekend because the bullpen arms will not be as fresh.

We could probably be over .500 if not for Glendon.

Get him outta here.

I will say it again, for Al's sake....

RUSCH SUCKS!!!!!!

It's a fact of life. He has got to go. I wonder how long until he is DFA'd. I hope it's during the game. Oooh, am I a meanie or what. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Travis Miller? Didn't he pitch for the Astros? He doesn't seem like a bad guy to bring up. Coco would be just plain hlilarious. From what I have read about him he could really bring some fireworks with him to the mound. Burba?? Burp! Excuse me..

Rusch has got to go!

This Brew fan wants badly to believe in Yost & Melvin, but if Rusch is still on this roster tomorrow they will have lost me for good.

There is ZERO chance he will improve given more innings. He's getting worse, which is almost impossible to do!

27 - 30 in games he hasn't started, good god almighty!

They got some serious splainin' to do.

I agree with Muddy that respect for Melvin and Yost will drop like Enron stocks if this guy sees another start.

I'm sure Sexson will get hit at some point tonight. He seems to be a favorite target for retaliation. Should be interesting!

It's too bad Glendon couldn't have made it to the plate with St. Louis retaliating against him. A nice bean ball to the head that put him on the DL would force the crew to try somebody else. Bring up Joe Roa NOW! Yeah, he looked like crap at AAA the other night, but what's the worst he can do: 1-11 in his first 12 decisions with a ridiculous ERA? No one could be worse than Rusch right now, gimme Burba, Coco or Roa, at least it would take a few weeks before we all hated them.

A few thoughts from tonight's game:

Rusch needs to at least be pulled from the rotation. I find it hard to believe that no one in AAA could pitch better than Glendon is right now. After listening to Yost's press conference tonight, I'm still not sure he'll actually make the necessary move here.

Many people have commented on the Brewers' poor play at home, and everyone from Powell/Uke, Daron/Bill, Yost, and some of the players have said that they have no idea why. Well, maybe it has something to do with the fact that for nearly every home game, we're losing before the Brewers even get a chance to bat. How many home games in a row now have the opponents hung a crooked number against our starter in the top of the 1st? It's tough to continually come back if you're always behind from the get go. Is it too much to ask that we come up to bat in the bottom of the 1st in a tie game with the chance to get a lead for once?

Well, I got to be at this game which ended in the first inning and i knew it. I will promptly eat my words about Yost sticking with guys through tough spells. Rusch cannot do ANYTHING right. I feel sorry for the guy, but it's over unless he does some serious soul searching.

I would like to say that the hightlight of the game was Kolb's performance. He routinely hit 95mph on the gun and touched 97mph several times. I looks like Durocher last year.

Cruz looks incrediblely natural playing defense and not completely lost behind the plate. I really believe that if he got a bunch of consecutive at bats he would be able to hit.

Bought my first baseball cap since I was 5 at the ball park today. Does 7 5/8's size and still tight mean I am bucket head?

Heard at Yost's press conference:

"I still believe in Glendon. He had a tough night, but he battled for 1 inning and kept us in the game through the first 4 hitters. So I saw some positives out there tonight. I still think Glendy is going to get on a roll soon. Don't forget, his performance made it possible for the bullpen to pitch 8 innings and give up only 1 unearned run. If the bullpen can keep hanging numbers like that I don't mind running Glendy out there every 5 days."

You mean Yost actually didn't say that he thought Rusch pitche well? It's like bizzaro world out there during a Yost interview about Rusch. Rusch will give up 7 earned runs in 6 innings and Yost will praise him. I'm waiting for Rusch to give up 2 runs in 8 and hear Yost say how he was dissappointed in the big guy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

It is time to put Glendon to rest!! Stick the fork in him he is done. I can't take his horrible pitching anymore. I just hope that they do something with him. Bring up Pascual Coco. He is pitching good enough down at Indy, or bring up that Childers and see what he can do. He used to be a starter too at one time. Just really tired of the same old thing. The Brewers are 2-13 when Glendon pitches. Enough said!

Depends on what hat you got. When i went to a game earlier this year. I was wearing a 7 5/8 hat but 2 hats I liked did not fit in that size (even the 7 3/4 didn't fit). But I looked and found another one I liked and 7 5/8 fit perfect.

yeah, as long as it isn't an undersized 7 5/8, that would qualify you as a buckethead, as that's the size Daron and Bill both wear. I myself can barely squeeze into a hat of that size unless I just got a hair cut. Usually, I have to order 7 3/4 hats off the internet, my head has been this big since I was 13, of course I was 6'1"/200, but my friends would playfully try my hat on over theirs and laugh when it still flopped around. When I transferred to a fairly small high school my senior year, they had to special order a football helmet that would fit my gargantuan noggin. Good to see there are others here who have craniums as large as mine.
