IGT: 6/19/03 STL (Simontacci) at MIL (Rusch)

Thought I'd try and "start" one of these cool threads....

I'm praying that Rusch doesn't get steamrolled tonight... Unforuntate, God answers my prayers with health, but not victories for my favorite sports teams...

Cardinals 15 Brewers 4

Rusch 1.2 IP 11H 9R 9 ER 4 BB 1K

6/20/03...

The Milwaukee Brewers have placed LHP Glendon Rusch on waivers....

Your line for Rusch is pretty accurate, but I think he'll make it into the 3rd inning. Props to GL!

I'm certainly not more qualified than Ned to run a club, but his insistence on keeping Rusch in the rotation is easily one of the most unbelievable managerial strategies in recent memory.

Certainly, the team is going nowhere, but they do show signs of being competitive from time to time. With Rusch out there, it's a guaranteed shellacking. What's the point?!

There's no way there isn't someone in the system, somewhere, who can give them a better chance to compete than GL.

I just hope Glendon keeps us in the game for a little while. That is all I hope for. Just long enough for us to get some offense in and then go to the bullpen. Praise the lord if he can stay out there longer than that though.

The only reason I have high hopes for the game tonight is that St. Louis is putting someone on the mound that has been almost as bad as Rusch lately. Simontacchi's ERA over his last three starts is 7.50. Granted, it's not a Rusch-like 9.77, but it's up there. This will probably be a shoot-out, and if either one of these guys make it past the fourth inning, I'll be amazed. If the Brewers can get into the Card's pen early, then we stand a chance.

LOL, maybe Glendon will retaliate and get suspended for a week. Might be the best thing for him. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif If anybody gets hit, I hope it's Tino again... I just can't get over how lame he acted last night.

Also remember, earlier this year the Cardinals were peeved when the Rockies AT COORS FIELD were stealing bases ahead by 5 or 6 runs in the middle innings. Like you never see 6 run leads evaporate in that launching pad. The Rockies should have agreed to quit stealing bases as long as the Cardinals agreed to stop trying to hit home runs.

Alright, I can understand not wanting to start Matt Ford, but for Bill Schroeder to say there is no other option for another starter is insane. No one in AAA? How about Travis Miller?

I can't watch Glendon Rusch anymore.

[ I'm sick of this this crap. If your hoping for lightning in a bottle, bring up Pasqual from AAA. If not, bring up Dave Burba.....Glendon, you are awful!!!!!! He lets them bat through the order in the 1st inning, pathetic. ]

What ever do you mean? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

That was flat out unacceptable from Glendon. Even Ned Yost can't spin that into a positive.

I'm not one to panic, but it's the middle of June and there's not even a hint of improvement. If the Brewers have no faith in their players at AAA, then give Jamey Wright a call. He can't be any worse.

Not that Rusch ever was any good, but its obvious by his body language his confidence is shot.I remember when i used to pitch and things went bad, your body gets tight and your thinking when your throwing instead of just pitching.

When your a soft thrower like Rusch and he gets all out of wack,he has zero chance to get batters out.He has to be removed for his own sake as much as ours.

wow. 8-0 bottom of 2nd. Glendon got pulled already. Good gosh, this guy sucks. I have a good idea though- find the over/under on any game Rusch is starting, lay down a bundle on the over.

That's why I and others have been screaming to not let him pitch anymore. I didn't think it could get any lower than it's been but he did it. I usually have no sympathy for professional athletes but yes, for his sake put him in the bullpen if you're going to keep him around.

Buckethead actually said there's nobody who can step in to help? God help the BrewCrew.

Everybody now...BUR-BA, BUR-BA!!!!!
