slamotto, I was going to vent my frustrations at length after reading the lineup and before seeing your post. This is utterly ridiculous! I guess it was that fifth plate appearance that did him in. I hate it when a guy is 4-4 and makes an out when the outcome is no longer in jeopardy.

It's not utterly ridiculous given what Clayton has done recently . He's something like 12 for his last 27 (10 for his last 19) and he had a clutch hit with two outs yesterday. I think Hall should play too, but it's not something we should get all charged up about.

Wow... 6.2 IP, 0 earned runs, 1 hit, 1 walk...

I knew he'd be a good pickup - but I was expecting to have to TRADE for him. Instead, we got him for nothing more than pro-rated elague minimum.

I'm ready toput him into the 2004 rotation, folks.

On our way to 8 straight wins. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

Let's win this one first.

Well, we are two outs away.

C'mon, Doug Davis!!!

EDIT:

ONE MORE OUT!

EDIT TWO:

REDS ON THEIR FINAL STRIKE!

EDIT THREE: Sean Casey with a double.

EDIT FOUR:

BOOK IT! THE STREAK IS AT EIGHT!!!

Doug Davis with a COMPLETE GAME five-hitter, allowing only one unearned run!! His ERA drops from 4.85 to 4.29! In a total of 19.2 IP with the Brewers, he has allowed only THREE (3) earned runs.

I think we have our #2 starter, folks.

If I'm not mistaken (which I might be) his only starts have come against the Pirates and the Reds, so it may be a little too early to declare him the second starter. I do agree though, that he has been outstanding so far.

Next game is Wayne Franklin against Seth Etherton. Wayne's been red-hot lately, so we have a good shot at winning this one.

The last game of the series - Wes Obermueller vs. Paul Wilson - is probably Cincy's best chance to avoid a sweep. But we've been on a roll - let's finish this thing!

Ok, Doug Davis has allowed only 3 earned runs in 19 + innings as a Brewer. What about the 5.02 E.R.A. in the 400 + innings he's pitched in the majors before this 3 game stretch? Clancy, you're jumping the gun here man.

We're ALL excited about how the Brewers are playing, to be sure, but proclaiming this pre 03' Glendon Rusch clone our # 2 starter???
