06/26 - Brewers (Franklin) @ Cubs (Prior)

squarepusher

Prior is rediculus. I hope the Cubs watch his pitch counts better though so they don't blow out his arm like they usually do.

Oh wait...I'm a Brewers fan. Its hard to root for an injury so all I will say if he blows out his arm is I told you so. He has a smooth dilivery so we will see.

...with the post on watching Prior's pitch count. HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Hope Dusty enjoys his supper tonight.

I know the pitch count thing is important, but they're in a pennant race and I think you gotta ride your horse in a one run game. Unless they have Gagne or Smoltz, that's a bad decision.

Considering that I most certainly won't always be employed in such a way that I'll be able to listen to entire Brewer games via the net as I did today, I just want to relish this day.

I'd like to thank Ned for sending Osik, Cruz, and Kieschnick up in the 8th to K and push Prior's pitch count up.

Didn't everyone know Scotty was going to lead off the ninth with a base hit? 3-for-4, hello legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate.

Franklin, Viz, Estrella, DeJean -- woo-hoo!

Brewers leave one man on base all game...

Savor these, boys and girls...they're what makes being a day-to-day fan worth it....

Yee-haa!!

What a great afternoon. Got to see the best young arm in the game put in a dominating performance and STILL see my Brewers win.

At this point, if Geoff Jenkins isn't an All-Star, he's getting robbed. His numbers are all around better than Sexson's. He's the most important player in our lineup.

WELL put me down for Scott as one of the top rookies and Kudos to Melvin for picking him up.

MrGinter again comes thru it really about time we find a team to move EY to so he can play Full Time

Kudos to the staff today way to keep themselves in the game.Franklin one bad pitch to sammy on a 3 ball count

but again the brewers win another game that Franklin Starts

There's been enough games like this to make me believe it is "all coming together." And by the way, try to make an argument why Jenkins should not be in the All Star game. Good outing by Franklin, Ginter shows some pop again, Pods is on the bases like he owns them, and Jenks is an RBI machine.

A big thank you to Dusty Baker for littering the Cubs bench with the likes of Tom Goodwin, Lenny Harris, Troy O'Leary, and Paul Bako. And for running Mark Bellhorn out of town. And to Jim Hendry for rolling over to Baker while he searches for more players like Shawon Dunston.

If we trade him right now, we still gotta get some legitimate prospects for him. He's still a good value this year for his production. We don't really need to get rid of him and Sexson's salaries for next season seeing as those are really the only two that we'll have for a significant amount of money. Even though he is producing a lot this year, I don't know how many teams would actually give up a blue chip prospect for him when more proven names like Mike Lowell and Brian Giles could be on the market.

Jenkins has to be one of the top 10 guys on the blocks (in our eyes on the blocks) this summer

Any team going into the playoffs lacking a big outfield bad certainly would covet Jenkins this year.

The Yankees aquired David Justice...comparative seasons/hitters at the deadline a few years back. Maybe dealing Jenks to a contedor for a top prospect isnt totally out of question

If we are stupid enough to trade jenkins then I never ever ever ever want to hear another brewer fan ***** about how we never have any talent on this team again. We finally get a big time stud in our lineup and all of a sudden we decide its time for another team to reep the benifits?

Good grief. The grass always seems to be greener for brewer fans like you. Unproven talent for a guy who can flat out rake ? No thanks.

Scoop, what's the point of holding on to Jenkins to simply try and achieve the lame .500 goal?... He'll be 8M next year, and Jenkins always manages to wind up injured while trying to make some spectacular play. He's gone on record as saying he's not going to change how he plays the game.

Why play for 2003, when there's a better chance for a legitimate shot down the road.

Or maybe i'm just being "stupid".

How about that Brewers bullpen today? Looking over the box score on CBS Sportsline, it shows that Viz, Estrella, and DeJean threw a total of 18 pitches to get 8 outs. That is flat out efficient and impressive. That's the way a pen gets it done.
"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

Square,

Exactly whom do you expect to play OF for Milwaukee in the coming years? We have no legit OF power prospects. Jenkins is a perfect fit in Milwaukee and should be signed to a long term deal. If they DID let him go via free agency who the hell do you think they could sign who could reproduce his numbers? Give me a list so we can discuss it. I cant think of anyone who would sign with the crew who will put up impact numbers like jenks can, has and will.

Get over all this injury BS. Its over. He is healthy. He plays the game hard. He might get hurt. So might everyone. Vlad is hurt this year. It happens. He hits the ball like a freakin madman. Relish the fact that we have a player of his caliber and stop dreaming of trading him for a couple of AA players who are completly unproven. We gave up Sheffield of complete crap. We dumped Vaughn for a pile of dung. Lets not make another stupid mistake.

Who would replace jenks if he left? Let me know about all your brilliant ideas.

I wouldn't trade Jenkins unless we got an offer that was to good to refuse.Hes signed for next year, see how he finishes this year and starts next year.

Then if hes still playing well and healthy start talking extension if Jenks is willing to stay.It then comes down to numbers,if Jenkins accepts a reasonable and fair extension i'd gladly keep him here long term.
