1. Wayne Franklin puts together a quality start (7 IP, 3 runs). I don't think he is going to be spectacular, but if he turns out like Ron Villone, he could be a nice asset.

 

2. Bill Hall is showing he has some serious potential on the offensive side - much better than Clayton.

Extra innings w/a chance to take 2 of 3 from the Giants...eh, they let it get away from them in the 9th...but i can't say i'm upset.

Agreed.

 

It almost makes me wonder if it is not time to think instead of making a trade for someone who could fill a hole. This club has looked very good since Sanchez was benched.

Lost in 12 innings. A shame to see a quality start go down the drain. The bullpen will need some help. Hopefully, some of it can come from minor league free agents OR folks in AAA this year, but we may need to get a decent reliever.

Was this Kolbs first blown save?

Kolb's second blown save, but his first as a closer. His other came in a 7th inning appearance shortly after his arrival.
