Okay, am I reading this right? Jenkins. Has two triples. That's a decent SEASON total for him. I love this weird game.

What the hell are these guys trying to do -- screw up our draft position for next year?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Overbay does hit it hard each time, but good to see Counsell pounding it still (like each game I saw in the spring). A homer and two smashes (two great plays and a little bad luck to get him by 1 step combined in two outs)

gotta add that he just hit a hard liner over SS for a hit

Hey, did you think the Cactus League Championship this year was a fluke?

DHonks

Baseball is a game of luck sometimes.

EDIT:

Leadoff single... open up the floodgates again, Brewers!

EDIT 2:

I also think it's time to bring in the bullpen. No need to push Davis any further. He's given the Crew a quality start. Let Adrian Hernandez and Jeff Bennett finish this one off.

It would be cool if Spivey goes deep tonight. The Milwaukee Diamondbacks are putting on quite a show.

Doug Melvin's gotta have a big smile on his face tonight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

The offense had better have a huge day tomorrow. Kolb will have worked the first two games of the season. Plus, Kinney will be on the mound, and when he gets in trouble that usually causes a big inning.

EDIT:

Is it just me, or does Kolb have trouble when he pitches two consecutive games?

EDIT 2:

Final score 7-5, BREWERS WIN!

BELIEVE!

I swear if Yost says "golden glove" and "Helms" in the same sentence again.....

And what does it take to commit an error in the majors... apparently it's NOt when teh ball bounces off the inside of your glove....

2-0 BABY! It would be nice to exact revenge from last year and sweep the Cards.

One last thing, does Bill Schroeder lick ALL catchers, or just Mike Matheny?

Exactly my thinking as well...it is nice to see almost every ball that is being hit is a rocket. Sort of makes me wonder if our offense is actually good or if the Cards pitching is that bad? I'm hoping we're that good! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif

From what I remember, a lot of those hits came from the 7th inning on.

Ned tried to push Doug an inning too far. Pull him out after six, it's early in the season. Let Adrian Hernandez take two innings, and let Bennett get the last one.

The other concern I have is that after an impressive game Monday, Kolb was not up to snuff today. This could be a problem.

Yes baby!!!! I am loving it.

I agree about the offense tomorrow needs to have a huge game. I don't think we will have Visciano or Kolb for tomorrows game but hopefully Hernandez and Ford can do a good job.

Does anyone know how many pitches Kolb had to throw tonight?

Nice win by the Brewers.

The only thing to really complain about was Helms' glove work. And the scoring. There's been talk for a couple of years now of standardizing the scoring instead of having a club employee who's a buddy of the players do it and I think everyone who's up in arms over the sanctity of the record book should at least turn a little attention in the direction of improving the scorers.
