hits Monday. Ben Grieve hit a two-run homer and

Scott Podsednik hit a three-run shot.

When was the last time the Brewers were 2 games over .500? It has to be more than 2+ years. They can reach that mark with a win today.

[ Hey, is this Statfox thing new this year? It's very good and will be very informative after the Brewers get a few games under their belt. Where do you come up with all the numbers? ]

We've actually had the Statfox info for a couple of years now. It's provided by Statfox who actually is a local (Milwaukee area) stat company, who fortunately, are Brewers fans.

about MAtheny:

Boy it has been a couple of years, but it still hurts when it is a former brewer

Anybody else want to laugh last night when the Cards finished with a battery of Tavarez and Matheny?

Jenkins with an RBI triple in the top of the third 3-2 crew.

I got nervous because I was worried there would be a play at third and that Jenkins would have to slide. I am glad he didn't have to.

Gotta keep him healthy.

Either that or the Cards got lucky.

If Davis were pitching ugly, I'd expect Edmonds, Pujols, Rolen, and/or Sanders to do most of the damage.

Marquis is looking ugly, though. If the Crew can pounce on him in the fifth, and rack up three or four runs in a big inning, they can put Hernandez in and let the bullpen take over.

If LaRussa isn't quick with the hook...

EDIT:

It seems Davis has good secondaries (WHIP of 1.00, 4 K in 5 innings). Chalk up the gopher balls to bad luck.

Homers, doubles... I don't care - just as long as they score more runs than the other team!
