Yes, i believe we got to him early and then had to deal with Hill for almost five innings..

Here's hoping that we score enough to get a good lead but not enough to knock him out of it right away.

5-3 would be a good victory..

DD always gets good run support it seems.. let's do it!

Hell with that. I say we thrash him within an inch of his life within the first inning or two.

I want nice, big margin wins. Build up the team's confidence, get the bats swinging. Let the bullpen (whom I don't trust all that much) not worry about things.

That said, a 5-3 win would be just fine.

that last sentence pretty much sums up our attitude as brewer fans.. we can think crazy and hope for a huge win.. but in the end, back down to reality we go!

Will sure hopes we get it done today...

Steve, I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more COWBELL!!

One year ago after 75 games the Brewers stood at 41-34. That turned out to be the high-water mark for the season. I still remember how good I felt about the team, coming off a 5-game road winning streak and going to Pittsburgh. Obviously nobody foresaw the 26-60 finish and, frankly, it's still a little hard to believe that they were that bad over the last 86 games of the season.

The torrid stretch of losing began with a 4 game sweep by the Pirates, with the Brewers losing to Oliver Perez 8-1 in the opener. See the link here:

sports.espn.go.com/mlb/re...=240702223

The game featured a 14 K performance by Brewer hitters, 7 strong innings from Perez, and a career day for the non-descript Tony Alvarez (1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBIs). For the Brewers, Overbay went 2-4 with an RBI (his 59th of the season), plating Junior Spivey with his 32nd double of the year.

That's the key to beating Zambrano -- get him upset about something. The guy is a loose cannon. Having said that... I think it would be a mistake to characterize what happened last time as anything but a bunch of dinks and dunks that fell in for us (until C Lee bombed a frustrated Zambrano). The most vivid example was Brady Clark getting fooled so bad he looked like a statue in the batter's box, weakly flailing the bat at the ball and bloops it to right field.

That's pretty much how the 2nd inning went for CZam. I wouldn't count on it again. But, maybe he'll get rattled in some other fashion.

Ahh, but he has been sent back to Iowa so Prior could come off the DL. Still though, another nobody who has a career day against us.

No walks Doug, no walks.

On a more sobering note, if we lose tonight it looks like the Astros will overtake us in the standings.

Geez, it seems like just last week Houston was about 13 games under .500. This is the same thing they pulled last year before they made the playoffs. Just goes to show you that it's a long season and anything can change...unless of course you're the Brewers (or so it seems.)

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
