6/29/05 - Brewers (Sheets) @ Cubs (Wood) 1:20 CST

RyDogg66

Ben Sheets (3-6, 3.6http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif looks to find his old form that allowed him to dominate the Chicago Cubs at the beginning of his career.

Meanwhile, Kerry Wood (1-1, 6.16) will try to pitch 5 innings without his arm falling off.

We need this one real bad.

Derek Lee + Aramis Ramirez HR predictions anyone?

I think Sheets is something like 1-7 in his last 8 decision against the Cubs, after starting something like 8-0. So hopefully the recent trend does NOT continue and Big Ben gets back to kicking some Cubby butts.

Game #76 last year.

The Pirates finished off a doubleheader sweep by beating Milwaukee 13-2. The day's total had the Pirates ahead 21-3, and they would go on to beat the Brewers twice more for a 4 game sweep.

Game 2 was a beauty as the combination of Wise, Burba, Bennett, and Kinney gave up 14 hits, 5 walks, and 2 HRs in 8 forgettable innings. Jason Bay went 4-5 with 3 2Bs, 8 RBIs and a contested HR (a fan reached out and touched the ball, prompting an umpire conference before they called it a HR). Abraham Nunez also homered for the Pirates, and they banged out 6 2Bs as a team. As stated yesterday, this doubleheader sweep marked the beginning of the end for last year's team.

Ahhhh, terrible, terrible memories.

I was there, for that fateful series in Pittsburgh last year. It was the worst set of games I've taken in in my entire life!!

Thank goodness we swung by Miller Park on the way back home to see Sheets/Clement duel! That was fantastic.

Back to today's game. Do you think there is any chance we could get Carlos Lee in the 3-hole? Clark, Weeks, Lee would be really nice to see!

Is this not on TV anywhere, ESPN alternates and stuff included?

ESPN has Cleveland/Boston at noon.

DirecTV channel 736 is airing the game, but that pretty much blacks out the local audiences. Anybody that lives out of Wisconsin or wherever the blackout range is, can check the game out.

I called Friday's at Miller Park and they said: "Yeah we can get it..I think" I said could you make sure it's on Comcast in Chicago and she came back and said yeah we can get it. I am not sure since maybe they just want people in. Someone else call to 414.902.4201 and get the mojo going for them.

Channel 736 is part of the Extra Innings package. If you don't have that, you can't watch it on 736. If you do, I don't think it will be blacked out because it's a road game and not on local TV.

Yeah, I failed to mention it was part of Extra Innings.

I do have that package and I will now impatiently await for the message at the bottom of the screen to disappear and broadcast the game. Now my hopes are up.

Sometimes the blackout restrictions are hard to figure out, I really hope you're right.

Interesting that Hardy did not start yesterday with Miller in there. (By the way, the offensive differences between Miller and Moeller are getting smaller and smaller--this may end up a worse signing than Jenkins.) I presume Moeller will be in for the day game and Hardy therefore out. Hardy-O-Meter stands at -6. (20-26 record with Hardy in the starting lineup, 15-15 without).

I hope you were kidding. For the record, Miller is outproducing Jenkins and plays a far more important defensive position. Oh, and he comes in about $15 million cheaper over the next couple of years.
