Sometimes it is too painful to be a winner. You are then expected to perform more and more. And give more and more hope to your fans.

It is much, much easier to simply give up. Collect your pay and go home and sleep and invest. It is only Milwaukee. It does not matter.

Look at it. There were many, many guys that could have put a stop to this... Davis, Botts, Phelps, Sanatana. So you have four guys who, for some unknown reason, suddenly performed from the 7th inning onwards at all time lows. What are the odds of four MLB, decent, pitchers giving up the ghost to one of the weakest batting lineups in the league.

Well, you do the calculations. It is pretty much impossible, unless you factor in the human 'dont care', 'choke', 'loser' mentality.

Not that the mental side has anything to do with baseball.

So the bullpen sucked it up today. Obviously Yost doesn't trust DLR. How about sending him down to AAA and bringing up Kane Davis. The bullpen seems pretty worn out right now. This loss sucks...but you guys do realize we won the series right?

Wait...DLR's out of options, isn't he....scratch that previous thought.

You know the brewers have a nice little team right now, but they are young and they will make mistakes and lose games. The thing is a team like this can't afford to have a manager that makes mistakes by putting players in poor positions to do well.

How many knee-jerk reaction threads will there be after today's game?

I'll go with seven, but five will be locked. Although it is a holiday weekend so there aren't as many people online as there would be on a weeknight.

So scratch that. Five, with three locked.

How is this game Yost's fault? We had a 6-run lead and the bullpen simply had a meltdown. Relax. Over the course of a 162-game season really horrible things happen to a team.
