7/9/05 Brewers (Sheets) @ Braves (Davies) 6:05 CST sorry

WI, I love this team and enjoy all aspects. Even when they cause me pain, I enjoy the fact that there is hope and I can see ways around the pain (I mean with more decent managing).

You know, you have said 'a million' complaints about Ned's decisions. But, I actually give factual reasons for my opinion.

There have not been a million, and in fact, before this week I have not been too hard on Ned. In fact, he was a non-entity as far as the performance of team, IMO.

However, in this past week Ned has actually done, IMO, a number of absolute blunders. He is showing no leadership and confusing the players.

Of course, my friend Brett, just comes back with prove it, prove it, prove it. I cannot prove it at all. It is my opinion. But I bet I am right.

This team has mental (scared to win) issues. And poor Ned is not helping them at all. I am disappointed this great team is scared to step forward.

They will soon, or they will end up in Las Vegas. I dont think we can endure to many more years of losing. In the past we drafted bad and cheap and had bad players. But now, so sad, we have decent players, even good, but we mentally blunder day in and day out.

Let me enjoy me team.

And for all the idiots out there who accept loserdom, please let me NOT ACCEPT LOSERDOM.

HOFFY, it's nothing personal man. I just think you overreact and don't look at the big picture enough. This team will soon be good enough that we can maybe look past sheer talent as a reason for a defeat (or even a victory, like tonight), but right now that seems to stick out to me as a reasonable explanation. I just think some around here, myself included at times, dig a little too deep and overanalyze things that are staring us in the face as a fanbase. Just cool it, and look at the season as a whole rather than every game individually, because it is way too long of a season to spend so much time analyzing decision after decision and AB after AB.

My $.02

Everyone can say that JDLR or some other gas can from that pen should have pitched, but those same people would have jumped all over Ned had one of the known gas cans gone out and pitched like crap and put the win in peril.

With the All-Star break coming, it was imperative that Ned use the chance to get Wise and Bow some work. Wise hadn't pitched since Wednesday and Bow since Tuesday. You can't just assume that you'll have a chance to use them on Sunday, because there could very well not be a game.

Quote:
...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT TODAY TO 6 AM EDT

MONDAY...

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO LATE TONIGHT...

.TODAY...RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY IN THE MORNING...THEN RAIN

AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. WINDY. RAIN MAY BE HEAVY AT

TIMES IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 80S. EAST WINDS 10 TO

15 MPH INCREASING TO 15 TO 25 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

.TONIGHT...RAIN WITH A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. WINDY. RAIN MAY

BE HEAVY AT TIMES. LOWS AROUND 70. SOUTHEAST WINDS 20 TO 25 MPH.

Maybe Ned manages differently if there wasn't a hurricane coming. But there is.

And...oh, by the way...WE WON. For how crappy this team has been playing, they're 3-3 on a very tough road trip.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

Hmmm...that seems plausible but upon looking further I am not sure I buy this argument...that or I wonder about the execution. First of all, if the goal was to get Turnbow some work, why doesn't he start an inning instead of coming in with 2 out? Meanwhile, Wise worked 2 innings on Weds and one on Tuesday, and hasn't really lacked for work at all...why does he start the 9th if getting him some work is the whole point?

Never said I had all the answers. But this idea seems more plausible than the idea of sending out a pitcher that you know sucks so you can get him some work.
