7/15/2005: Nationals (Hernandez) @ Brewers (Sheets) 7:05 CST

brettac1

Since I'll be lucky enough to be able to attend this game (Sec. 117, Row 9), I figured I'd start the thread.

This looks to be the best pitching match-up of the season to this point, and figures to be a dandy.

Thanks to rluz, from yesterday's Game Thread:

Remember the game last year where Hernandez pitched like 8 shutout innings and then the bullpen (I want to say Rocky Biddle?) blew the game?

This should be a great matchup. Sheets has been lights out lately.

Yeah, we were down 5-0 in the 9th, came back to tie it and Wes Helms hit a walkoff HR in the 13th-ish inning.

I remember that game for sure. My friends and I were there... and they came all the way back from 5-0, with Wes Helms the hero with a walk-off three-run HR in the bottom of the 12th or 13th. Fantastic game... Livan was in the game until one or two outs in the bottom of the ninth when the crew finally got to him.

Very exciting game, but about half the crowd was already gone before it got interesting, and about 40% (if not less) of the crowd was still on hand for the final victory. The crowd that stuck it out was PUMPED, though... we must have high-fived the entire section, and the place was still screaming, clapping, jumping, for about five minutes after the game. Brewers were coming out of the dugout pointing to the crowd and waving and stuff.... great game.

I was at that game as well. Nineth started with a solo job by jenkins. At that point I was just glad they weren't gonna be shutout. A lot of the damage was done with 2 outs too--Kiesch's pinch hit tied it a think. Great game, this one has all the makings of being another good one.

I would not say "own".

15 starts 7-3 record with a 3.36 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and .272 BAA.

Looks like he likes to pitch himself out of trouble.

My guess is the Brewers have liked to swing themselves out of a rally.

Who'll finish with more homers this year, Weeks or Branyan?

Weeks. Mainly because Bill Hall will continue to eat up 3TO's playing time.

Who'll finish with more RBIs, Weeks or Overbay?

I hate MLB.TV.

Everytime we play the Nationals, I am told that I cannot watch the game because of territorial restrictions. I am working in Central Illinois right now, and there is no reason why the game is not accessible here.

When I call the customer service number, they are never able to help me.

(Sorry I just needed to vent).
