I think this is a very good situation to put Dana in. If he pitches well the Brewers can come back and he can get the win. Cordero is due to get bombed.

You heard it here first. Dana gets his first major league W tonight folks!

EDIT: Make that...you heard it here second! Darn it.

Those Sid Fernandez comparisons are pretty right-on. Wilson Alvarez, too. He's changed his windup a bit since Beloit, I think, although I can't quite pinpoint what it is.

Anyone?

I heard we were on TV, right by some guys with Rollie FIngers mustaches and a sign.

Yeah, they had those guys on and Bill did his Bert Blyleven "circle me" bit.

If he's GP's roommate, I don't doubt for a second that he was going for the moon.

I remember another player who wore #37 who had some meat on his bones and pitched well, then dropped some weight and started to suck.

Let's keep Dana being Dana.

I don't remember off the top of my head, who was it?

The problem is when you're a professional baseball player your body is your job. There's really no excuse to not be in top physical shape. To me it sends the message of a lack of work ethic and overall laziness.

I want to say Steve Woodard.

If he weren't a pitcher, i'd agree.

But for God's sakes, he's only 6'1"/220. Let's not act like they had to call him up from the Old Country Buffet.

Ah Steve Woodard. I don't think you can blame the weight loss for the downfall of his career.

Well that's if you believe the numbers the Brewers put out. He looks about 235-240. Kinda like when the Packers used to list Gilibert Brown at 350. If you play a sport for a living you should be in tip top shape period.

Not saying I don't like him, he looks to have very good stuff. I just think he should dedicate himself to being in better shape is all.
