7/28/05 Giants (Hennessey) @ Crew (Santos) 7:05 CST

Sutton sounds so darn happy when the Brewers get embarrassed. Go back to California.

I see your point, but trying to go the opposite way can do absolutely no harm.

You don't see how it might hurt a dead pull hitter to try and hit the ball the other way?

please don't tell me you think that was mismanaged endaround...I know you thrive on all things negative, but the IBB was the right call...the odds of their pitcher hitting a Lee-esque shot is rare

Intentional walks are always such a good idea!

Gimmie a break! I have no statistics to back this up, but I will bet you walking the guy ahead of the pitcher works out better than 90% of the time. It was the correct call, its the pitch that was wrong.

Well, Mike Matheny isn't exactly an elite hitter. Then again, it was against Brewer pitching.

We don't get runs off of "sinkerballers".

My friends and I also developed a term for 3 runs on 1 hit. Or 7 runs on 4 hits, since the Brewers seem to let it happen so often. We call it "chunked". As in the opposite of "scattered". We decided to stick with Waffle House terms when trying to come up with the description.

I hope the term can live on.

I think I saw the future earlier tonight. I am sitting here in Bologna, Italy at 3:30 AM and following the game online. A bit earlier (1 hour or so ago), I had this thing called "Teletext" on. It is like a simple website for each tv station.

Anyways, it had the Crew losing 3-0 to the Giants, and this was when the game was in the 1st inning. Darned if they weren't correct...

Currently, according to teletext, the Brewers are losing 9-0 in the 7th. Let's just hope that isn't true. Should I just go to bed?

But hey, Washington lost, so we're still only 5.5 games out of the wild card!
