Right now, I do not like baseball at all. It makes me very angry. My ride to the game got so angry, he stormed off in a tantrum after the 8th, leaving us stranded..... the 8th innings and 7th innings were crushing. I don't know why all of you guys are placing so much blame on magruder though. They all looked like crap. Nobody had a good at bat all night, save Rickie's dingers, and a few singles. Jenkins reverting back to his old form. Branyan swings at EVERYTHING. wow........no more talking about this one.....

Seriously the problem is when Ned turns around looks at the bench he doesn't have the luxury of major league players. When he calls the bullpen for long relief cause Santos,Ohka, or one of the lefties is eratic he gets numerous gas cans or inexperience rookies.

I am sure we could dig up Stengil or Kuenn and they would still have to bring in one of those turds.

Is he at fault for the decisions on the roster? Probably but that is where the GM has to put his foot down.

Props to the guy who is pissed about Magruder on the other thread. It's about time that fans are demanding more for their $. High expectations are what we should all have and it's good to see that people are getting mad because they expect more.

Why so much blame on rooter? I have said it a bunch of times in this thread because it is true.. He would be the 4th outfielder in Nashville. if a for real Major League hitter had K'd with 1 out and the bases loaded in the 8th, I would be less mad. He was a free out.

the brewers actually don't have anyone that is major league capable readyto play cf except brady clark...this is a real problem...but it isn't ned's fault, and it isn't magruder's fault...

the brewers back up plans just haven't worked out this year...i'm sure doug took the loss tonight just as hard as we did..

I agree Mcgruder sucks, but the biggest problem was leaving Branyan in there. Bases loaded, no one out, down by 2 in the 8th inning, Branyan is batting .053 against lefties. We still had Hardy and Helms on the bench. How can anyone possibly justify that?

This board is hillarious. Just a few days ago, the complaint was that Branyan wasn't given an opportunity to hit in a major scoring opportunity. If that doesn't point out the incredible weakness of the Brewer bench, and the roster in general, I don't know what will. The Brewers have some nice players, just nowhere near enogh of them to win consistently - including the pitchers who are routinely not getting out of the 5th inning, which also takes a toll on the bullpen which Ned supposedly doesn't use properly. When you ahve starters consistently only going 4 and 5 innings, is there even a way to properly use a bullpen?

I think it is funny to watch people so desperate to convince themselves that the Brewers are a decent team, that they truly try to argue that they would have appreciably more wins if Ned Yost wasn't the manager. Who are you trying to convince when you make these arguments - yourselves or the rest of us? When the Brewers have better players, they will have a better manager, whether his name is Yost or not. Is he perfect or even above average? Maybe not, but he is not the reason the Brewers aren't above .500.
