One of the best wins of the year. To come back and put a big offensive inning on arguably the top pitcher in the majors, at a time when the offense overall is struggling, is very very big.

With not having to face Oswalt, this was a big win. Lets capitalize on it tomorrow with another win.

Does anyone see Him. I am looking at the clouds waiting for Jesus.

By the way, we picked up ground on the THREE lead wild card teams today. And they said it could not be done.

(but I think there are now FOUR teams about 5 game in front of us; but what the heck, we have no chance, but let us win a game tomorrow!)

Great game, and i almost bet on this one tonight.. we were +200 tonight! Last time we were that far under dogged was against Pedro and it was a fruitful night for me.

Great win, someone called 6-3, and guaranteed a win.. well.. he almost got the score, but i'm sure he's not too dissapointed.

Ohka's a steal. Nice to not worry about the #4 starter. If Eveland can be the #5 starter, the Crew's in good shape there...

Whoa, nellie... let's not put the cart before the horse. Ohka could have easily lost this game 6-5.

We got lucky, dodged a few bullets.

i'm sorry that i missed this game and after reading the game thread i only have this to say: by page five of this thread people were already claiming that the game was over when we were down 1-0. i know clemens was on the mound and all and that our offense is frequently non-existent, but wow. page 5 and game over. even a blind squirrel yada yada yada.

Russ,

They're only 5 out of the Wild Card. Live a little! Dream the big dream!!

With 4 teams inside 1 game of the wildcard race, I'd rather have realistic goals.

That's no fun.

dont act like you are the only one who knows what a statistical longshot this is. We KNOW that there is a 1 in 100 shot We also know that we are a 5 or 6 game win streak away from raising the odds to about 1 in 20. There IS hope. If you cant allow yourself the joy of pondering those types of scenarios then I truely dont understand your passion for being a brewer fan. You could probably prove that there is a 1 in 1 trillion chance that the Royals could lose 18 in a row, but that doesnt mean it didnt happen. There have been far longer shots in sports than this that haven done the ALOMST impossible.

Just enoy the freaking ride with the knowledge that something special COULD happen. If you dont, why bother?

PS...do you HONESTLY care if they reach 81 or 82 wins? I would rather this team finish with 80 wins 3 games of the WC (not realistic i know) that 88 wins and 10 games out of the WC. At least in the 80 win season, the final 10 games would be exciting and there would at least be a ray of hope.

Scoop's got it right. Nobody believes they are going to win the thing, but as long as they can remain in a position where a modest winning streak would put them right in the thick of it, they will continue to play meaningful games. Isn't that realistically all we can ask of this team this year, meaningful games in September (I realize it is still August and they are just a modest losing streak away from the opposite happening)?
