Yeah, I was thinking it would be a good spot to give JDLR an inning.

It's also just not worth all the fussing I see here...say what you've got to say, preferably a little more nicely, and let it go...at some point we're not all going to agree on things.

I apologize to the posters here at BF.net for, in effect, starting an argument in tonight's IGT. It was not my intention. I just lost my patience over ... well ... you know by now. And it's not my nature to get into those kinds of heated debates.

In the future, I'll try my best when I see the incessant Yost-bashing on here to just roll my eyes and steer clear. Of course, that will severely reduce the number of threads I can participate in (rim shot), but I digress.

I can't promise the same about the Wild Card discussions. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

(At least I still have my sense of humor!)

I think I remember a post on here that read that the Brewers' record for most home wins in a season at Miller Park was only 37 or 38. Assuming I'm remembering correctly, the Crew is now at 32. How great would it be to see them tie or eclipse that mark on this homestand? They can definitely do it. Great games by Cappy and Weeks. A question I got for Brewer fans: If Chris Capuano is referred to as Cappy, then what should Jose Capellan be referred to as? Cappy #2, Cappy Deuce, etc. is too obvious.

Nice outing by Cappy...I was there. And also good to see Capellan hit 96 on the gun once or twice. I thought he threw from the windup in spring training.

I thought about De La Rosa, but I don't care. They brought in one of their projects. I'll bet Jorge has been up in the pen a lot lately, or at least is expected to be needed a lot soon.

Short and sweet, thank you SoCal. I hope others read this, allow it to soak in, and move forward. We're all on the same team here.

Geez:

I was so looking forward to coming home - from a game I really enjoyed - and feel the Brewer love in the in-game thread.

Cappy (the elder?) was cruising to begin with, and solid overall.

All those hits by the kids.

Rickie's web gem, which had better make it onto Baseball Tonight.

Even Bob's riff on the radio over those dolls was fun.

Plus we had complimentary club seats, our annual thank-you from the Brewers for having a partial season ticket package. Maybe I should offer this game as evidence that they should give us club seats more often. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

But this thread is a lot less fun than attending the game was.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I read most game threads after i get home from work, so i know what happened in the game (since it is usually too busy for me to listen). It is nice when the big innings are described a bit more. Though i do agree that we don't need every 5-3 groundout or whatever posted. Think of us poor people who have icky jobs that make it so that they can't see or listen to more than 2 games a week http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif (this is in reply to the discussion on page 5)

Today was one of the best days of my life. My mother and I headed up about noon to take a stadium tour (awesome, I highly recommend it), hung around downtown Milwaukee until the game, and got to witness the Brewers absolutely slaughter the Marlins. Best game I've ever been to, hands down.

Even though there were only 20,000 people there, the atmosphere was still pretty electric, but maybe it just seemed that way because we were a section over from the Bucketheads. Huge standing ovation following the big inning, really neat to experience.

I don't recall anyone having a terrible night, seemed that everyone chipped in. Everyone here was whining about Prince or JDLR not getting into the game, but if you were there, it wouldn't have mattered. It was perfect just the way it was, I wouldn't have changed a thing, trust me.

We are one game away from the biggest game of the year. If we ever get to one under .500 I will be amazed.

Actually, it seems like we are winning and winning and winning, but are still under .500. I think the reason is that we lose 5 in a row and everybody says 'that is what we should expect'; then we win 2 out of 3, 2 out of 3, 2 out of 3, then split 4 games... and we are all happy, happy, but still bloody well under .500.

I wanna win 6 or 7 in a row NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About some of the posters thinking that I and rluzinski and others were"nagging" Yost"

First of all, I dont have cable and was listing to the game on the radio, so I didnt know a LHP was on the mound in the 7th - so that makes sense that Price wasnt put in.

I cant speak for the others but when I was "nagging on Yost" I wasnt really compaining or calling him a bad manager or anything like that - I was excited and I wanted to see Prince get an AB (like possibly in the 8th for Jenkins, unless a LHP was still in) and I always want to see JDLR or Capellan get some innings so we know what we have for next year.

Everyone just needs to chill out. It was a great played game by the crew and lets hope we can get at least one of the next two.

I just like to read some of the things said during the game and I must say people are way into the pitch count stuff. Baseball "so called" experts have brain washed everyone to think that if a pitcher goes over 100 pitches, his career may be in jeopardy. Maybe there aer still some real pitchers out there that like to throw and improve there stats, etc... Cappy was cruising and wanted to throw. Give it a break. People who actually believe that pitch count stuff can go back to playing hopscotch and jump rope. Remember the days when a guy would throw 130 pitches and come back on a 3 days rest for an entire season?

It was a great crew win and people decide to crab about Prince not batting and Cappy throwing just over 100 pitches. Come on people.

Several comments from the game:

1. Was lucky enough to score tickets in section 110, row 6 (Thanks Dad). That put us in a great sightline to see Cappy?s move. It is sick. The leg comes up and just seems to hang there, not breaking to the plate. Almost impossible to tell what he is going to do.

2. I think O schooled Messenger on that pickoff. All game I noticed that when Cappy was about to go home, O would slap his glove loudly and move into fielding position (when holding a guy on). I think the Marlins picked up on that. But, on the Messenger pickoff, O slapped the glove, the runner leaned away, O went nowhere, and Cappy nailed him. Nobody listened to the glove slap after that.

3. That Weeks play was one of the best infield plays I have seen. From our view, it looked like the ball ate him up but popped out of his lower back into Hardy?s glove. Just silly.

4. Hart signed autographs and yakked with fans along the right field line for about 10 minutes before the National Anthem. Signed everything he was given and had a short conversation with each person, eye contact and everything.

5. Before the game Hart, Hardy, Jenks, Hall and some others were running sprints from the right field line. After Hart got done signing some girls started to shout for Jenks to come over. Jenks looked at Hardy and pointed over to the stands as if to say ?You handle it Rook.? Hardy dutifully ran over and signed up until the first bars of the Anthem. Hilarious.
