you would not want to question a call

I could swear no one has said you can't question a move if you want to. And others can say that it was a perfectly fine move.

No one's saying Ralph's God and you're stupid.

Let's move on, please.

This is what I said, Hoffy...

Quote:
Wes Helms is one of the top PH in the league this year. Prince Fielder is a 21 year old rookie with VERY limited experience. I'm failing to see where the managing errors are, unless you are just searching for something to rip on Ned about. It isn't Ned's fault this team can't score a runner from 2nd with no outs, or that the ump's strike zone unexplainably just became the size of a Lincoln Town Car.

You then came back accusing me of being in Ned's family, not believing in free speech, being too dumb because I'm from Georgia (???) to understand Midwestern logic, etc, etc...I have to ask, who attacked who here?

You are putting words in my mouth. Attempting to play the martyr here will get you nowhere. It's been proven time and time again.

Scoop, you're right.

Lead off double by Helms and two batters follow with backward K's (not in succession, need to add Hart's swinging strike out in between). That's not the way to score runs.

Big turning point in 3rd with Overbay and Lee leading off with back-to-back singles, but no runs scored.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda won this game.

EDIT: regarding strikeouts in 7th inning.

Ralph you actually said this

you are just searching for something to rip on Ned about

I dont appreciate it. Am I allowed to have a go back at you?

And this was after I said so, so gently he made some managing errors.

HOFFY

You do the same thing every game it seems. All the time you find something to complain about and Yost is your usual target.

Personally you seem like one of the biggest, if not the biggest Yost complainer on this site and I can understand why Ralph would say something like that after hearing the 'Yost sucks' record playing every single night they lose.

And of course your first line when anyone points out your amount of complaining is "oh, here is Ned's family."

Maybe we just feel that Yost isn't doing such a horrible job as you seem to think. A job of a manager is difficult and it is very easy to second guess him, as you have shown all of us. Just don't get all defensive when people disagree with your thoughts on Yost, because not everyone here thinks he's a bad manager.

I see no malaise in this statement. Were you not searching for something to rip Ned about? You took dixie's post and ran with it as a reason to rip Ned Yost. My opinion was that the only reason to point out that it was a managing error (it wasn't) was to twist the knife in Ned's back a little bit more.

I pointed out in MY opinion some 'minor' managerial errors. Well, I said Ned managed today with his gut more than with stats.

And actually, Ned's gut decisions were much, much better than a stat manager would have made. Ned helped his team have a better chance to win today.

But the first YOU was fired by yourself. To come out and say my purpose of posting is to RIP NED is pretty annoying to me. You think I get up at 4 am to follow a Brewer game is so I can RIP NED.

And the dude who says I am one of the biggest Ned bashers here should actually read what I say. Ned is a good bloke and he loves Milwaukee. What I say is not BASHING Ned, it is bashing things that hinder our team and players.

Ned made a joke out of Wes last year.

Ned attempts to make a joke out of Mags this year.

I have never seen a manager get so many UNFAVOURABLE matchups in a game.

I have never seen a team with so many relievers overworked and so many underworked.

So, I comment (bash?) things that hurt the team I love.

I've been reading what you've said for quite a while, and that's just an observation. I'm sure you don't hate Ned Yost, but your constant complaining about every little decision he makes sure makes it seem that way.

When you rip a manager for pinch hitting one of the top pinch hitters in the league, upset that the 21-year-old rookie didn't get a chance, you are grasping at some extremely thin straws.

Hoffy, I know your heart is in the right place. I know you go way back to the ESPN boards. I don't question your loyalty. I guess we just disagree on how to voice our frustrations with the mediocrity of this team.

Either fight over PM or just let the other guy have the last word. We won't think less of you if you don't post last.

Talk about the game below this line, or your post will be in danger of deletion

OK, then I will post ABOVE the line (see below).

Thanks Ralph. Hey, I love to nitpick. I actually finally had enough of Ned a couple of weeks ago (and posted such). But he has done a pretty good job lately (his pitching handling is getting better). And I know there are reasons he does what he does. And I am sure he is not drunk in the dugout.

This team is not too bad. I actually think they are going to develop into a really good mob over the next couple of years.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that I am below the line. This game was a shame. So many chances. And to get beat on a couple of dribblers, whilst we smash line drives all over the place to be caught.

Darn, darn, darn.

Hey, can anyone give a heads up on Corey in center. Does he seem ok. You must be able to judge his jumps on the ball by now.

No, the bottom line is the Brewers need to be over .500 by the end of the season.

I know what you're trying to say, but getting back to .500 would not be impossible if they're not there by the end of the homestand. By my count, there's still 25 games after that. That's still a lot of baseball left to make up only 2-4 games on .500.

Unless of course you're talking about the WC race, at which point I exit the discussion.
