Thank you Cappy, for another nice outing.

not trying to start anything... but since when has 6 2/3 innings and 5 earned runs a nice outing? Sure, he did strikeout 8, but I wouldn't call it a nice outing. Lets call it more luck that the brewers bats have blasted the reds pitching than the Brewers pitching doing well.

I just wish they could spread some of the runs out a bit.

I don't know what's worse, the on/off offense or an offense that would garantee you 3 runs, but also garantee that you wouldn't score more than 6. I'll take these on days, I just wish the on days were the televised games/home games.

Jeez, those ERA's for today's Reds pitchers are sure ugly:

6.63, 4.91, 7.07, 63.00 (no, not 6.3), 9.75, 4.63 and the guy in there now is over 20.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Yeah, lets get Geoff hurt in a blowout. Great line of thinking there. The only way he legs out a triple is if the ball caromes off four walls and through the legs of three outfielders.

Anyway, while we all beat ourselves up debating over who subs for who, how about recognizing what a great situation this is to be in?

Not to be overlooked, with his game today Jenkins moves his OPS to .890. That looks good enough to slip into the top 10 among NL Outfielders and roughly top 18 OVERALL hitters in the league. Safe to say Jenks is key to a playoff type season in '06. When you look at just post all-star break Jenks would be an MVP candidate.

Scoop, knew you'd come to mention those things about Jenks, as you should when he does well. It's been a couple of years since he had this kind of hot streak, but it sure is fun to watch. Torn groin, bad back...and the best baseball of his career
