Seriously, if we put in Turnbow here, who closes the game if we score? Jorge? Cappy2? That's why you don't put in Turnbow here.

Saves are a silly stat.

I'd rather my best reliever face their best hitters here and worry about getting three outs with the lead later.

remember it has nothing to do with heart or mental qualities

we have guys on 2nd and 3rd in the 9th and score zilch

then when it becomes too painful to try to win, we just walk a couple of guys to lose the game

how enjoyable... how enjoyable

who is going to tell me 'lack of talent' led to that loss

I think something like 0 for 10 with RISP led to that loss, that is lack of mental talent

There were two times we only had to put bat on ball to score the winning run... and we could not do it

shameful

but, they will go and relax in the clubhouse... they did their job for the year, they hit .500 two times

LOSERS

And another thing about Turnbow not pitching there...if you guys ran the team, he'd pitch 162 games.

Nope

I just wouldnt follow some silly code like a sheep and only use my best reliever when some dumb stat says i should.Plenty of teams lose games in the 8th inning while the heart of the others team order is up and use an inferior reliever simply because it's not a save situation.

Then the save situation vanished, its moronic

This team is frustrating to watch a lot of the time, but it is better than conceding defeat most of the time, like the past 12 years. At the end of the year, this team will win somewhere between 78-82 games, just like 95% of the people here thought they would.

While I agree that closers shouldn't be used solely for save opportunities, I wouldn't have used Turnbow either. That means he would have been in four of the last five games (and four days out of six), and may not have been available tomorrow. I guess I'd rather have him tomorrow for a potential save opportunity than have him come in the game tonight to protract the game for another inning.

Just wondering are the gas prices affecting Brewerfan.net too like they are the attendence at Miller Park?

What 11 pages for a heck of a game like that? We had the chance to go over .500. where is everyone??? Sleeping?

What does everyone have to do tomorrow work or school, you can do that any day. I thought it was going to be like that Sheets game against the Angels last year, what 27 pages.

Oh what did ESPN say or did not say about the Brewers??

Hmm, that screams "lack of execution" to me, not lack of heart.

Seriously H0FFY, you're getting to the point where instead of actually writing anything, you could just have all your posts say and everyone would know exactly what you would have said.

ANYONE Realize where this Team could be if they could have learned to Hit in the Clutch at all this year.

The Brewers are about 20 hits w/RISP behind their overall team .257 BA pace . The Brewers have lost about 28% of their games by 1 or 2 runs. Assuming those 20 lost hits were evening distributed throughtout the whole season:

20 hits x .28 = 6 hits

That's 6 hits w/RISP that should have occured in games the Brewers lost by 1 or 2 runs; 6 potential games that could have turned in the Brewer's favor with an extra hit. I would estimate the amount of games that would have turned into Brewer wins at about 3 games.

That's a theoretical 75-71 record. Still in third in the NL Central and tied for 4th in the wildcard race (maybe a 3% chance to win it).

O wait, was that a rhetorical question? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
